To mark the centenary of women’s right to vote, London Shell Co are hosting three evenings where some of London’s strongest female foodies will be taking over the kitchen and no this is not the time for any terrible women/ kitchen jokes…
Taking place on the 11th, 18th and 25th April, chef Elizabeth Haigh (former Head Chef at the Michelin-starred Pidgin) will be cooking up a five-course feast, with dishes including burnt spring onion pancakes, lardo, peas, chilli and pea shoots; barbecue beef onglet, 24-hour smoked cabbage and a side of bitter leaves and Jersey royal new potatoes. Wines will come from female-only wine producers, carefully chosen by Caroline Brangè, a sommelier and the head of Stannary Women’s Wine Club.
The all-female crew will be headed up by London Shell Co co-founder Leah Lobek and they’ll all be wearing custom made Polka Pants designed by Lucy Kilpatrick, a friend of London Shell Co. There’ll also be an appearance from Emma Rice, director and wine maker at Hattingley Valley vineyard.
It’s time to celebrate the vote on a boat.
