Like wings? Then you need to get yourself down to London Wing Fest, which is back in August and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Taking place on the 4th and 5th August, the festival has quintupled in the last five years, going from 7 stalls when it first started, to this year having 35 stalls and space for 10,000 attendees – that’s a lot of chicken to eat. You’ll want to come hungry anyway so that you can demolish and win the wing-eating battles. The 35 traders will also be battling it out to win titles such as the ‘Best Buffalo Wing’ and ‘Best Wild Wing’ and it’ll be up to you and the critics to choose the winner of the important ‘King of the Wing’. The line-up includes Randy’s Wing Bar, Wingmans, Mother Clucker, Brother Bird, The Joint, We Serve Humans, Lord of the Wings, Thunderbird, Absurd Bird, Mother Flipper and White Men Can’t Jerk. And that’s only so far, who knows which other chicken connoisseurs will be there.
Joining all the wings will be two stages which will host blues music performances, street entertainment, live cooking demos and five bars so you can wash all that poultry down. Can’t get enough wings? Then this year, they’ll be a new app where fest-goers can fully interact with the live-voting feature and you can immersive yourself in the world of wings by also taking part in chase the chicken competitions.
Tickets are on sale now, so you better start practising your wing eating and get ready for 2018’s Wing Fest.
Wing Fest will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2018 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20 2ST
