It’s not often that you get to taste the creations of a three Michelin star chef, and even if you’re lucky enough to be a regular in the three London restaurants to have achieved this accolade then surely the chance to sup at the table of Thomas Bühner from Germany’s ‘La Vie’ is a chance to jump at?
Thankfully you won’t have to traipse to Osnabrück, but just to Greenwich and the InterContinental London – The O2 where he has teamed up with the very talented Tomas Lidakevicius, Head Chef at Peninsula Restaurant for a collaboration spanning three days only.
The menu sounds suitably incredible, with unusual dishes like Tomas’ ‘Pike Perch, charcoal, sea vegetables and lemon verbena’ and Thomas’ (yes, having two chefs called Thomas/Tomas is going to get confusing) ‘White Asparagus, squid, Caviar Imperial, carbonara style. The food is designed to work in harmony while allowing each to celebrate their personal style. Which translates into the fact that this should be a pretty splendid meal out!
Thomas Bühner is undoubtedly one of the greatest chefs around, having kept his impressive roster of three Michelin stars since 2012 at La Vie. He’s also a member of Relais & Châteaux and Les Grandes Tables du Monde. Tomas Lidakevicius is Head Chef at Peninsula Restaurant, within the InterContinental London – The O2 and has previously worked at Texture, Galvin at Windows and City Social.
Three stars for three days, sounds like a five star review.
