The Handbook
The Handbook

One for those who carry out their everyday tasks in their active-wear, Sweatlife has returned for another year and we’re pumped.

Canadian apparel brand Lululemon will host the sweaty shenanigans next month, and whilst most might associate festival with copious amounts of glitter, the inability to shower and the occasional mosh-pit, Sweatlife introduces a whole different, and much healthier, meaning.

After last year’s success, the event has moved from one day to two, taking place this year on 23rd-24thJune. A day at Sweatlife festival will see you witness a sea of down-ward dog positioned, Lululemon wearing yogis, attempting to master the Chaturanga Dandasana. If, like me, you don’t have a clue what that last word meant, then you need to get down to this festival to get clued up on your yoga terminology and to enjoy stretch sessions with some of the best yogis on the planet.

The festival will include a speaker-based series throughout the weekend, discussing body positivity, diversity, and a much-needed chat about work/life balance. If you’ve over-indulged recently and the summer-bod has gone out of the window, got on a plane and deserted you entirely, now is your chance to pull it on back, as the fest will bring together the best of sweat, yoga and personal development.

With classes intended to cater for beginners through to experienced, there’s no excuse not to put on some Bohemian inspired garb and a yoga mat. The fitness landscape is expanding faster than we run home to eat after an intensive barre session, and to celebrate this, there will be boxing, pilates, spin, barre, bootcamp and dance available too, alongside yoga. The event is a networking hub, allowing guests to connect with local and globally renowned studios and teachers. In other words, once you start there’s no going back, you’ll be a yogi for life.

Oh, and unfortunately, Lululemon lovers, there is a whole area dedicated to their activewear, so if you don’t want to burn a whole in bank card, leave it at home and disable your Apple pay, (however, we highly recommend you don’t and have a good old indulge). There will also be Sweatlife product for men and women to buy.

Sweatlife Festival runs from 23rd-24th June at Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, Wapping, E1W 2SF.
