Cocktails, like pieces of art, are a thing of beauty – especially circa 5.30pm on a Friday when you’ve barged past every fellow commuter, sashayed your way on to the escalator and pushed through the tiny tube door gap, to ride off into the sunset, and get your hands on one.
Well, the next time 5.30pm tolls and the Sex on the Beach isn’t ruffling your feathers anymore, how about getting yourself down to German Gymnasium’s Meister Bar to sample their brand new ‘Icons’ cocktail menu? The menu pairs 12 new cocktails with celebrated names from the catwalk, art exhibitions to perfumeries.
The Meister bar is housed inside the D&D – yes, we know, just as you thought D&D’s Bloom Rooms and Burgers were breaking your Insta, they’re back with more – we’re not complaining though, as these cocktails look super tasty, (if not some of the most wow-worthy cocktails we’ve seen in a while)!
The Lubeck’s Legend cocktail by these guys was the inspo behind our most instagrammable cocktails feature, and now they’re back with more. The Icons menu will feature cocktails inspired by great icons of fashion and art. No there won’t be a cocktail donning Iris Apfel’s signature specs, but instead highlights include Pollock No.32 dedicated to Jackson Pollock, with chocolate spattered glass, and a chocolate gateau washed Woodford Reserve, and Black Opium, paying homage to Yves Saint Laurent.
As Romero Britto once said, “art is too important not to share”. The same applies to cocktails, so see you on the sip side.
The Icons menu launches today, at King’s Blvd, Kings Cross, N1C 4BU, www.germangymnasium.com
