What’s the official end to the summer? A Facebook feed filled with uniformed children stood by their front doors? Swallows flying south for the winter? No, as far as we’re concerned it’s the annual Butler’s Wharf BBQ Feastival.

Butler’s Wharf, the Thames-side restaurant enclave at, you guessed it, Butlers Wharf, will be giving punters the chance to sample unlimited barbecue dishes from each of their restaurants (Blueprint Café, Butlers Wharf Chophouse, Cantina de Ponte and Le Pont de la Tour), not to mention a cocktail from the restaurant of their choice. The ‘feastival’ (which is a festival with another ‘a’ and bunch more food) sees the four restaurants, all part of the D&D restaurant empire), combine efforts along with Mr Hyde in one-off by-the-river bonanza of BBQing.

What to expect? Look forward to copious amounts of BBQ dishes at each of the partnered restaurants. Like Blueprint Café, which will be putting their terrace with its elevated views of the Thames and Tower Bridge to good use while they barbecue pulled pork buns with grilled courgettes served with Nyetimber’s English fizz.

Down the way at Butlers Wharf Chop House they’ll be sticking to what they do best with a menu with beef and veggie burgers alongside a selection of refreshing gins and tonic.

Wander over to Cantina del Ponte and enjoy a truly Italian offering of Tuscan sausages, ribs and a summer salad with, of course, Aperol Spritz. Finally, Le Pont de la Tour will be keeping things decidedly up-market by grilling seafood dishes including prawns and squid plus a glass of Moët & Chandon.

Butler’s Wharf BBQ Feastival takes place on Saturday 22nd September
