It’s pretty annoying when you order something at a restaurant and it doesn’t look anything like you imagined. You’re left with a sour taste in your mouth, (quite literally), and vow to never set foot in another restaurant ever again. OK, so that’s the over-exaggeration of the year (as it saying that’s the over-exaggeration of the year), but what I’m trying to say is dining out is important, it’s often pre-planned and expectations are high.

This is why Gousto, the recipe box company, have come up with a novel idea in the form of the UK’s first Chef-less restaurant. The experience will see guests jump all aboard the gastronomical world tour train, from Mexico to India, (not literally, I’m afraid) to enjoy food packed with flavours. The event allows diners to get full on at a ‘create your own’ cocktail bar, whilst using the yummy ingredients on offer to create a range of dishes.

If you’ve been reading this completely at a loss to who Gousto are then (first of all, have you been living under a rock), and secondly listen up! Gousto champion home cooking, with boxes galore of home cooking related goodies. Essentially, they’ve prepped your dinner you’ve just got to whack the stove on. There will be plenty of chance to feast, Insta and get giddy on cocktails plus you can sit back and relax knowing that for every donation of £2.98 (the usual cost of a Gousto meal!), the recipe box company will give a meal to a family in need in partnership with The Trussell Trust.

The chef-less restaurant runs as a lunchtime session (12.30-15:00), and dinner sessions (18:30-20:30 and 20:30-late) on the 20th of September. For tickets visit
