When there’s a cinema showing in the West End, normally you either have to have a ticket, or you have to be on the red carpet, not for the next couple of days though, because there’s a new open-air cinema just two minutes from Piccadilly and anyone can go.

For the 6th, 7th and 8th September, St James’s Market will be transformed into an open-air cinema complete with giant screen, a red carpet, proper cinema seats and of course a popcorn machine. The free event (yup, no need to get a ticket) will be showing the classic films, E.T, Singing in the Rain and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. With the weather set to stay warm until the end of the week although, if we believe the papers it’s until November, this is the perfect way to eke out the summer evenings.

Secret Screenings will take place from 6:30pm Thursday 6th – Saturday 8th September at 1 St James’s Market, SW1Y 4AH
