It’s that time of year again where The Berkeley introduce their coveted Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea menu, inspired by all of the fashion happenings of the year and trust us, it’s a good’un!
Posh Spice might not be going all aboard the tour train as her ex band mates announce the news of their re-grouping, but she does feature rather spectacularly in the afternoon tea. The banquet features a Victoria Beckham based offering in the form of a Victoria sponge (Berkeley, we see what you did there) inspired by Victoria Beckham’s legs-out-of-a-shopping-bag 10th anniversary campaign.
Catwalking onto the menu will also be a mint cake with chocolate bavarois inspired by Tom Ford’s leopard print sequinned two piece suit, Prada’s dinosaur motif tote in the form of a white choc stegosaurus, Fendi’s Cutwalk cowboy boots, Peter Pilotto’s pink satin blazer from Beyoncé’s On the Run tour in biscuit form, and more!
Last year, the Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea A/W offering saw pastry chef Mourad Khiat create Gianduja chocolate mousse garnished with an individual farfalle pasta bow (Dolce & Gabbana) and a chequered chocolate and vanilla Battenburg cake inspired by Stella McCartney’s covetable chequerboard summer pumps. However we think this year’s collection might just trump the last. Eek, we said it!
