Surely one of the prettiest seasons, cherry blossom celebrations or Sakura will soon be taking place in Japan, blooming in the last week of March and the first two weeks of April in Kyoto (roughly between 20 March and 14 April). If you can’t make it to Japan to see the blossoms (you’d need to be quick, their beauty is fleeting) then check out this incredible pop-up we simply can’t get enough of…
ROKA Charlotte Street, has once again transformed its underground bar, Shochu, into a spectacular cherry blossom-filled hideaway. The instalment encourages guests to take part in the Japanese tradition of Hanami, aka enjoying the transient beauty of flowers, and it’s just SO Instagrammable – eek!
ROKA can definitely be considered as one of London’s most popping, quirky Japanese restaurants and the food swiftly follows suit. On offer you’ll find vibrantly coloured cocktails and contemporary Japanese robatayaki cuisine. The robata grill dominates the restaurant where guests grab a bird’s eye view of the fish, poultry, meat and vegetables being sizzled. From April 7th they will serve up the Sakura Sunday brunch which will feature highlights of sashimi, gyoza, and robata dishes, all to be enjoyed with blooms galore, miraculously moreish in colour and definitely caption-worthy of ‘pretty in pink’.
