Piss off Sherlock, move over Morse and Poirot can just get in the sea, there’s a real detective in town. And he’s furry (technically so’s Poirot, but let’s move on and get this over with…).
POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, the first ever live-action Pokémon adventure, will be popping up on 3rd May in Covent Garden for two floors of Pokémon fun to mark the launch of the comedy adventure film POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
The ground floor of the experience will be given over to a Detective Pikachu-inspired lounge and coffee bar that’ll be serving yellow bubble tea and appropriately themed coffees, like yellow turmeric latte and Pikachu-printed coffee, to celebrate the little yellow critter. Insta-perfect with its bright yellow walls, you can then head down into the basement…
Underground there’s a space reflecting the neon noir style of the city where the action centres in the upcoming movie; the fictional Ryme City. Where, and I’m just going to copy-and-past the next bit, ‘visitors can channel their inner Jigglypuff in interactive karaoke booths and visit nail art stands by WAH Nails for a look inspired by the vibrant colours of the film’. Which all sounds very, um, fun.
Somewhat inexplicably, the space will also be hosting yoga classes as well as cupcake icing and shoulder massages.
So, if you’re a huge fan of Pokémon there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this tourist trap, and if not then there’s nail art, ‘themed’ coffee and yoga. So, something for maybe possibly nearly everyone.
