If you’ve been reading The Handbook for a while, you’ll know we’re a sucker for a cocktail with a view. And while in London, we might not be greeted with a mountainy view, we’re lucky enough to enjoy some of the world’s most renowned buildings. So although you won’t be getting an Italian backdrop this Negroni Week, at Glass Room, Bateaux London’s restaurant and bar on the Thames, you’ll at least have the London skyline. Glass Room has collaborated with the award-winning Italian dry gin brand, VII Hills, to bring the city its first and only floating Negroni bar – and it’s just in time for Negroni Week.

Known for being enclosed entirely by glass, you can pass on the speedos and grab your best tux when you climb on board at Embankment Pier. Because, lets face it, you don’t want to be splashing around the oddly coloured Thames water… With the boat being completely enclosed by glass, you can fully soak up the best of London’s most notorious landmarks. All the while blissfully sipping an authentic Negroni, or one with an added twist. They’re all available when you pre-book a lunch, afternoon tea and dinner experience on board.

VII Hills’ talented brand ambassador Gabriele Manifredi has put her cocktail-thinking cap on, only to rustle up four unique takes on the classic negroni. All incorporate VII Hills and are exclusively available for Glass Room – so grab them while you can! They’re definitely the perfect accompaniment when sailing past the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and Tower of London at sunset.

Those wanting a little added extra can enjoy the Bateaux signature barrel-aged negroni which is concocted of VII Hills, Martini reserve speciale Rubinho and, of course, Campari. Add a little fruitiness to your afternoon with the Fiori de pesco, a peachy blend of the usual suspects plus peach liqueur, or the Negroni all-arancia using Cointreau for a hint of citrus. If you’re wanting to celebrate Negroni Week in true tradition, you can opt for the classic Negroni Italiano. Combined the traditional way with equal parts of VII Hills, Martini Rosso and Campari.

The Negroni Floating Bar at Glass Room will be running for one month from June 24th, at Bateaux London, Embankment Pier, Victoria Embankment, WC2N 6NU, www.bateauxlondon.com
