When life gives you lemons, make… a rooftop terrace? It’s not all doom and gloom in London when summer hits, because even if the sun decides it doesn’t want to play ball, there are always little tropical paradises to escape to scattered all around the city. This summer we’ll see a little slice of Italy arrive on our doorsteps as La Dolce Vita comes to The Berkeley, Belgravia’s landmark hotel. Lined with lemon trees surrounding this little taste of Italy, the hotel’s hidden garden and swimming pool will be the number one destination. It’ll also help to elevate your Instagram feed allowing you to *squeeze* the day.
It’ll be as easy as a *sunny* morning when La Dolce Vita launches on June 1st. Those seeking the sun can enjoy an afternoon filled with swimming, sunbathing and a splash. Not forgetting the ‘aperitivo hour’ complete with bellinis, Aperol spritz and negronis. You’d be forgiven if you get Il Pellicano or La Sirenuse vibes. This little haven was inspired by some of Italy’s finest hotels. It’s decked out with lemon coloured loungers and parasols, olive and lemon trees hiding this oasis. An endless supply of traditional gelato and Sicilian homemade lemonade is also available for those with a sweet tooth. The lemons are straight from their own supply!
It’s not just the decor that’s giving off all of the Italian vibes. The chefs at The Berkeley will be serving up a poolside feast for guests to enjoy, including fritto misto; tricolore salad; pizzetta; arancini; finishing off with Italian gelato or limoncello sorbet.
As the British sun begins to set over this Italian paradise, the pool and garden will be furnished with aromatic flickering candles from the Italian house of Acqua di Parma. This spot will definitely be a go-to spot for a romantic first date, with friends or a loved one or just a solo excursion so you can keep this spot to yourself.
Those in need of a pamper session can indulge in the La Dolce Vita treatments designed by the spa team to help prepare your skin for the long summer ahead. Of course, it’s once again lemon themed but this time in the shape of lemon salts. Leave your feet to soak amongst the lemon salts while your face is fully cleansed, toned and revived into its youthful self with a hydrating mask. The lemon and rosemary oil will leave your body, from head to toe, relaxed and left feeling as soft as a baby’s bum. Two bundle packages are available for access to the pool, steam room, sauna and rooftop garden so be sure to check them out so you can soak in all the summer feels.
La Dolce Vita arrives at The Berkeley on June 1st and will be open until September 2019 and can be found at The Berkeley, Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, SW1X 7RL, www.theberkeley.co.uk
