It’s very on brand for London to have a luxury hotel chain make its way onto the streets of high-end Mayfair, so it’s of little surprise that French luxury goods company LVMH – Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy is bringing its Cheval Blanc brand to the city with the launch of a 83-bedroom hotel. The plans unveiled that it could be the most expensive hotel built in London, so it’s hardly surprising that the brand is an absolute favourite with the Royals and celebrities like Jay Z and Beyonce.
This world class hotel will be located within a seven-storey property and a 11-storey building, which will be linked, featuring all of the bougee hotel benefits – from the all-day eatery on the ground floor, exceptional fine-dining restaurant on the first floor run by a Michelin-starred chef, not forgetting the roof terrace and bar on floor six. Guests will have the opportunity to make a splash in the 25-metre swimming pool or chillax away from the hectic city streets in the underground spa.
Cheval Blanc Hotel’s is a French chain with only four other sites across the world – two in France, one in the Maldives – where Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, resided back in 2014 – and another in Saint-Barthélemy in the exotic Caribbean – so it truly will be one of its kind in the UK. The London site will be designed by architects Foster + Partners and is set to feature a new public arts installation, of course, celebrating Mayfair’s reputation for fine art.
Work for London’s Cheval Blanc Hotel is set to start in 2020, with the envision of opening in 2022. Watch this space!
