We’ve found a festival that we’ll never dessert and, more importantly, we need to tell you all about it. The London Dessert Festival’s got a pretty sweet line-up compared to, say, Glasto, one that swaps Mariah for macarons and Skepta with S’mores and well, it sounds all kinds of delicious. That’s right, if you’re a fan of all things sugar, you must be aware of the very first London Dessert Festival, which arrives this August and promises immersion, treats and Instagrammable everything.
Now, we’re well aware that there are a rare species of people out there who aren’t, as they coin it, “dessert people”, opting instead for savoury snacks and generally just not jumping aboard the “life’s too short, eat dessert first” mantra. So, for you crazy bunch, here are just some of the reasons to come along…
We’ve only got a glimpse of the frivolities but highlights include a Frozen Dessert Zone, Chocolate Zone and Cake and Pastry Zone. We’re talking Katy Perry music video-esque candy floss, a sprinkle filled pool and a wall of Instagram light box mini photo booths because, like, every festival needs those! The feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds spans over two delectable days and will be attended by dessert aficionados galore.

How are you brightening up your Monday night? What sweet treats are you indulging in? 😋 #LondonDessertFestival Photo: @sweet.lionheart . . . . . . . #cake #desserts #pink #icing #macarons #lovecake #foodfestival #foodbloggers #london #londonevents #eeeats #lovedesserts #bakers #londondiaries
As well as feasting on sweet stuff, you’ll learn about London’s dessert scene too, as the likes of Master Chocolatier Paul a Young and Executive Pastry Chef Nicolas Rouzaud impart their knowledge. Plus, the festival has paired up with none another than Le Cordon Bleu, an institute making sweet waves in the culinary industry. The influence from LCB will include two of its alumni each demonstrating pâtisserie techniques, so you can wow your pals at your next mock-up Come Dine With Me.
Expect The Brooklyn Bakery, PF Chang’s Pastry Lab, Sesame Kingdom, The Barnes Pancake Company and Kalifornia Kitchen to show face, but also a tonne more yet to be announced – eek!
London dessert festival, you bake me crazy!
The London Dessert Festival will take place on the 17-18th of August at Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, Spitalfields, E1 6QR. Find more titbits of info here
