The Brains Behind Gloria Open A Second Spellbinding Restaurant

Ooo Mama! We’re so excited about this opening – Big Mamma opened Circolo Popolare in Fitzrovia and boy is a whopper of a resto. If you’re familiar with Gloria, the epic Italian trattoria that opened in Feb that has since  infiltrated Insta feeds all over, then you’ll be familiar with the Big Mamma family.

Their latest child/restaurant features 20,000 bottles of spirits lining the walls – sounds like our Friday nights – and 280 covers, 60 of which will be snug on the outdoor terrace. The menu boasts a slightly ‘over the top’ nature, made comprising small cicchetti as well as larger platters and well, our tummies are positively rumbling…

Fun vibes are a’plenty at this latest haunt. The interiors boast over-the-top, raunchy, in ya face vibes and we’d have it no other way. Colours boom from the outside in as does flora and fauna. In fact, there’s literally a huge rainforest growing out of the wall, so much so that Tarzan is jealous.

The spellbinding spot looks as if Cinderella opened a restaurant with the help of Captain Jack Sparrow. We’re talking alcohol everywhere, literally, encircled by metres of fairy lights.

But interiors aside, what the heck is on the menu? Well, the cuisine in question is that of Sicily and the Mediterranean. We’re talking metre-long pizzas, pork skewers, gigantic sheets of pasta topped with tomato and aubergines and an overall #foodporn vibe flooding the space.

To finish, why not pop the ‘OTT 1L Sundae’ on your plate and bathe in cookie chunks and ice-cream. A dream come true right?

Suffice to say, Circolo Populare do nothing in half measures and we can’t wait for you to try it!
