Golden hour. The period of daytime, shortly after sunrise and sunset, where the sky is redder, softer and as the selfie lovers call it, prime Insta time. There’s one bar across the city, when the sun strikes the earth at ten degrees and magical things begin to happen, and it’s just had a chic refurb!
That’s right, following 13 wonderful years at the top of their game, Galvin at Windows, the Michelin-starred restaurant and bar is evolving with a total transformed bar, now aptly named 10º. Known for being the home of First Dates host, Fred Sirieix who is proudly general manager, and tucked high above the clouds, on the 28th floor of London Hilton on Park Lane, this skyline bar has become a modern oasis from bustling Londoner’s to rejoice in the city’s beauty with a tipple or two, while longingly looking out over London’s iconic skyline.
Sweeping in with new interiors overseen by Aylott + Van Tromp, you’ll find a sophisticated mix of gold, burnt yellow and verdant hues which really accentuate the warm glow given off when the sun fills the room. These softer hues will be balanced out by the array of luscious greenery and hanging plants dotted around the room.
Of course no Michelin-starred bar would be complete without a cocktail or two, and the new 10º will serve up some of the city’s stellar cocktails. You’ll find an array of signature classics which have been refined to perfection, and infused with an added twist that’ll get your tastebuds racing. Not forgetting a bunch of dreamy Michelin-starred food to fuel you through the day, curated specially by head chef, Joo Woo. Upon Joo’s Menu, you can expect an inventive take on French and Korean light bites, and we’re told Joo’s fried chicken is to die for!
Ahead of the launch, Gilles Louis, Assistant General Manager, comments: “We take pride at being at the top of our game for well over a decade, and we felt ready to evolve our offering. The London skyline 360º view we have is priceless, so it made perfect sense to harness that further. We want every hour to feel like the ‘golden hour’ when you are here.”
There’s something really special about catching golden hour, and there’s not better way to soak up its beauty than gazing out at London’s beautiful skyline, cocktail in tow.
