Who doesn’t love the adrenaline rush of sneaking in food into the cinema? How about creeping in the finest foodie goods on offer? Well, whether you’re up for indulging in caviar and smoked salmon blinis, or just smuggling in a pack of Haribo from the corner shop, Selfridges have just announced they’ll be opening a cinema and boy, are we excited!
Last week, the luxury food department store, Selfridges, announced they’d be opening an all new cinema, and it’s clear to see it’s going to win them some serious mega points with film lovers!
So, what do we know so far? Well, for the time being, it’s still all a little bit hush hush. But, this Oxford Street flagship department store is set to be opening its cinema in late November and it’ll be operated by Olympic Studios.
There’s three screening rooms on offer, two of which will have room for around 80 film indulgers and the third will seat around 30. The film screenings themselves will celebrate independent films as well as showcasing major Hollywood releases. Channel your inner princess with the first screening of Frozen 2 in the opening week, as well as Le Mans 66 (Ford v Ferrari to any Americans out there) featuring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
Like all London cinematic experiences, the price of an adult ticket and a box of popcorn is sure to set you back a bit of dosh, so maybe start saving your pennies now in time for its arrival…
