What’s your ideal job? Lottery winner, probably. Maybe international rock star. Okay, lower your expectations a smidgen. Deputy Editor at The Handbook? Bingo, got it in one.
Your dream job has just come onto the market, we’re hiring for an all-new DepEd and yes, we know what you’re thinking: ‘how do I get my feet under that slightly cluttered desk?’ Read on…
We are one of London’s leading news sources for all things food, drink and travel, with a circulation of 100,000 daily newsletter recipients. Founded 12 years ago, we’re firmly established and yet we’re on the march, having expanded our staff by 30% in the last year and looking to grow rapidly as we head into 2020. Which is where the Deputy Editor will come in, working alongside our Editor to set the pace and strategy for the editorial direction of the The Handbook, expanding the offering into new areas, working with freelancers, PRs and, of course, our own editorial staff to create something even better.
Our ideal candidate has experience working for a leading magazine, newspaper or website, writes really (really) well, understands and has views on how to navigate the changing media landscape, has a bit of commercial common sense and, most of all, has a great sense of humour that will ring out in their copy. Plus all the usual stuff about being great at working in a team yada yada.
In case you’re wondering why our current Deputy Editor isn’t sticking around, our dear Lottie Hulme has landed her dream job at OK! Magazine and will be writing about Love Islanders from mid-October. So that’s the ideal start date.
If you, or someone you know, might be a perfect fit (or even an interesting curveball) then all you need is in the link below!
