Amazonico to open in Mayfair, London

Giraffes are said to be roaming the streets, elephants will be crashing into traffic lights and causing havoc, and chimps will no doubt be swooping down to nab the sarnie you’d saved from lunch… Okay, not quite but Madrid’s hit luxury rainforest inspired restaurant, Amazonico is arriving in Mayfair next month and Londoner’s are getting super excited…

The news about London’s newest rainforest restaurant has been spreading thick and fast, and we’re here to confirm that Amazonico will be taking over the 8,500 square foot former Allied Irish Bank site in Berkeley Square House on Berkeley Square. If it’s anything like their Spanish sibling, it’s going to be a mega hit with the celebs too.

Upon entering their Madrid cove, you feel as though you’ve literally been transported to the middle of the Amazon Jungle. The ceilings are draped with lush green rainforest-inspired shrubbery and hanging palms, while you’ll find khaki toned lampshades swinging above each table, and green and rust velvet chairs adorn the floor. The Mayfair endeavour is said to follow suit as far as interiors go so you’re bound to see a few stray jungle animals perching on the bar tops thrown in for good measure.

The menu will be curated by husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Deco – two of Madrid’s best-known restauranteurs – and features a collection of Latin American cuisines and all their influences, from traditional Brazilian dishes and cachaça, to Peruvian sushi so you won’t be short of places to head to in Mayfair to get your sushi fix!

Amazonico opens 9th November, at 10 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, W1J 6AA,
