It’s no secret we love interiors here at The Handbook, and no more so than behind the keyhole of other people’s homes. Come on, everyone does, whether you’re keen to know what’s inside their fridge, what toiletries lie in their beauty bounty or whether their bed sheets really are from The White Company.

If you’re like us, you’re in for a treat. We’ve teamed up with Realm Estates to show you some of London’s hottest properties right now.

First off, who are Realm? The small independent property agency are owned by Sarah Caswell and Geoffrey Edmead, and for over 25 years they’ve been bringing personal and expert services to all areas of London’s Wandsworth area. In fact, recently, the modest firm were appointed as joint Agents of this stunning development, One The Tonsleys, with property behemoths Knight Frank. All four houses of the development were sold by Realm, proving that the personal touch goes a long way, even when up against such big players.

Now, as SW18 (that’s Wandsworth to anyone north of the river) residents ourselves, we’re slightly biased on our neighbourhood, but take one look at REALM’s latest development and you’ll see why.

One The Tonsleys is a stunning four-bedroom designer home by an award-winning father and son developers, Roland Jones Developments, and will either send you head first into interiors inspiration or pure envy.

We took a look inside the development for some serious home inspiration. Here are the reasons why we love it.

The Location

If you’re not au fait with Wandsworth let alone The Tonsleys, here’s all you need to know. It’s a quiet residential part of the borough just a stone’s throw from the charming Old York Road which plays home to independent boutiques, cosy cafes (we can’t tell you how many loafs of sourdough The Handbook team have purchased from Gail’s the bakery) to stylish pubs and restaurants. It’s also close to a number of excellent state and private schools if you’re moving with children in tow.

And, Southside Centre is nearby too, which houses all your retail needs, a Multiplex cinema, a HUGE Waitrose and more.

In terms of travel, Wandsworth Town, which is less than five minutes from The Tonsleys, will get you into town in under half an hour, with regular trains to Clapham, Vauxhall and Waterloo. All in all, it’s a quaint, calm part of London that manages to take on a village vibe but with the practicality of being in Zone 2. Something any self respecting Londoner will admit is near-impossible to find.

The Design

Now for the best bit. One the Tonsleys offers up some serious interiors inspiration. Step inside to a huge bay-fronted reception room with seriously luxe finishings, from parquet flooring to a Chesney fireplace and wood grain Porcelanosa tiles. Beyond the reception room is a wonderfully bright broken-plan living area of kitchen/dining/living space – just think of the dinner parties.

If you are one to cook, the Roundhouse kitchen of this property will seriously impress, with plenty of storage space for a whole family (or a seriously foodie couple) and a huge wrap around Caesarstone to satisfy your inner Jamie or Nigella.

Above ground, head up to the master suite complete with Italian designed fitted wardrobes and an en suite complete with rain shower – the dream. There’s also a guest suite, two more double bedrooms and, thanks to the hillside location, incredible views over the capital.

The Outdoor Space

Finding outdoor space in London is like finding a swimming pool in the desert, so if you find a property that fits your needs, is in budget AND has a garden, snap it up. At One the Tonsleys, the living area-cum-dining space opens up with full-height sliding glass doors to a tiled terrace. Perfect for giving little ones outdoor space to play or older ones somewhere to host al fresco dinner parties on balmy summer nights, the tiled steps lead up to a raised, private, south-facing (sunshine for longer) landscaped garden. And what’s more there’s even artificial grass for the lowest of maintenance gardens, built in seating and gorgeous lighting. If you’re after a ‘dream home,’ it’s pretty much bang on the money.

If that’s had you wanted to jump nest, head over to Realm Estates for more information on One the Tonsleys or any of their other developments. Happy house hunting.
