You’re probably wondering why you’ve been seeing giraffes roaming the streets, elephants crashing into traffic lights and chimps swooping down to nab your leftover sandwich when you’ve darted around Mayfair over this last month. Well, it’s because Madrid’s hit luxury rainforest inspired restaurant, Amazonico has arrived in the city and it’s fair to say we’re a little bit obsessed.
The news about London’s newest rainforest restaurant has been spreading thick and fast, and it’s easy to see why. As far as interiors go Amazonico London has very much followed suit from its elder sibling in Madrid.
You’ll feel as though you’ve literally been transported to the middle of the Amazon Jungle. The ceilings are draped with lush green rainforest-inspired shrubbery and hanging palms, while you’ll find plush tropical green banquette seating adorning the floor and florals thrown in for good measure too. As well as jungle animals swinging from the ceilings and peacocks perching on the bar tops too. It’s a rainforest dream to say the least, and is a serious contender as for London’s most Instagrammable spot.
In true tropical fashion, the menu has been curated by husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Deco – two of Madrid’s best-known restauranteurs – and features a collection of Latin American cuisines and all their influences, from traditional Brazilian dishes and cachaça, to Peruvian sushi so you won’t be short of places to head to in Mayfair to get your sushi fix!
Amazonico is now open! Find the restaurant at 10 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, W1J 6AA, www.amazonicorestaurant.com
