You can always trust Sexy Fish to offer up a night of good food, tunes, excellent people watching and general revelry, and even in these COVID-19 times, the Mayfair restaurant are doing their bit to bring nightlife back to the city.

Every Thursday night throughout August the party spot will be hosting their Seven Seas Series in partnership with Japanses spirits brand, The House of Suntory.

Taking inspiration from Sexy Fish’s aquatic origins (if you’ve ever seen inside their private dining room you’ll be familiar with their mammoth tropical fish tank and the seascape-inspired Damien Hirst art in the main restaurant) the weekly events will showcase an evening of enthralling entertainment and amazing food and drink.

The party will go on to 2am, a time most of us probably haven’t seen since the start of lockdown.

Never ones to do things by halves, guests to the Seven Seas events will be welcomed at the door by Neptune, God of the Sea (casual), before being entertained inside by performers dressed as mermaids and sea creatures.

If Sexy Fish’s past Halloween and New Year’s Eve parties are anything to go by, the costumes and makeup will be insane.

There will be a host of live DJs spinning the tunes and the odd electric violinist strolling amongst the tables, too. Food wise, guests can get stuck into their famous rainbow coloured sushi platters and Asian dishes, including some of the restaurant’s signature delights, from pepper crusted wagyu beef tataki to prawn gyoza.

It wouldn’t be a Sexy Fish affair without some totally over the top cocktails, which is where The House of Suntory comes in. Try the Aegir – a balmy summer appropriate mix of Suntory Haku Vodka, jasmine, coriander and strawberry, topped with soda water; get the party started with the well named Neptune – a take on the classic Espresso Martini but using Haku Vodka, espresso liqueur, coffee and tonka bean; or go bold with the Nāmaka – Toki Whisky, coconut, pineapple, yuzu, Campari and soda shaken into a Sexy Fish version of the pina colada.

What better way to get back into post-lockdown life? If you can stay awake for it.

The Seven Seas Series events take place every week from Thursday, 6 August. Entertainment starts at 9pm. To book, visit www.sexyfish.com
