Have your holidays been cancelled? Are you looking for some fancy ideas to jazz up the weekend? It’s time to do what us Brits do best: have a picnic. And no, we’re not talking about your usual boring combo of hummus and crisps. We’re ready for an alfresco afternoon of luxury… that’s completely free!

Think fine cheeses, fresh fruit, and chilled English sparkling wine delivered straight to your location… with added fanfare! This is not some pipe dream. This is something you can win thanks to The Uncommon wines.

What’s the deal?

English wine pioneers The Uncommon are revolutionising alfresco afternoons across the capital with their Dial-A-Picnic competition. The aim of the picnic game is to register for a chance to win one of their luxury hampers, which will be delivered with serious panache!

How do I enter?

To be in with the chance of securing one of their delightful picnic hampers, you need to message the Dial-A-Picnic WhatsApp hotline on 07311074559, with your name, choice of park, and the song that would make your picnic complete. Whatsapp in ahead of your chosen weekend and you’ll be notified on the Thursday of that week.

Up to 60 lucky people will be in the running for a decadent and mouth-watering afternoon. Just make sure to use the hotline before it closes at midnight on 4th August.

How will I know I’ve won?

Each week, 20 winners will be selected and notified before their picnic weekend. On the day they’ll be asked to drop their location pin in one of three of the capital’s favourite parks on specific Saturdays: Victoria Park on 24th July, Primrose Hill on 31st July and Clapham Common on 7th August. Then you just have to sit back, relax and enjoy The Uncommon English picnic delivered straight to you and your friends.

This picnic will look like an afternoon at a Roman banquet.

What happens if I can’t get to the park?

The Uncommon know that these are trying times, so if you’re isolating or indisposed on the day, they’ll find a way of bringing the picnic to you!

What’s in the picnic?

Say goodbye to soggy sausage rolls and flat prosecco… these picnics are luxurious. The Uncommon hampers are bursting with all sorts of treats. First up, there is a grazing platter from Grape & Fig that feeds four (yes, they’re the ones that make a picnic look like an afternoon at a Roman banquet). And you’ll be pleased to know that classic, vegan and vegetarian options are all available.

Obviously, you’ll need somewhere to rest your bum (no, not on the soggy grass), so The Uncommon have thrown in a soft, recycled wool blanket. They haven’t stopped there. They’re also including the lawn game of Quoits, a seriously underrated hoop and stick game that will provide hours of entertainment. And finally – the pièce de résistance – a generous stash of The Uncommon’s award-winning bubbly wines and spritzers. The whole hamper is worth a staggering £250. Now that’s a luxury picnic.

Tell us more about the wines…

The Uncommon produces locally grown and sustainable English sparkling wines in cans. The company was founded by two friends Henry Connell and Alex Thraves in Peckham. They quit their high-flying city jobs and followed their dream to become the first people to make drinking wine from cans cool. So if you want be part of The Uncommon movement, you know what to do… pick up that phone.
