In partnership with Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
From chocolate selection boxes lining the supermarket shelves to department stores decked out with Christmas shops, we’re already seeing the first glimmers of the festive season come into action. But one thing that always signals 25th December is near, is the arrival of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and it’s set to return this year with a bang.
After last year’s Christmas cancellations, London’s favourite festive event will be returning to Hyde Park this November, bringing with it more than 200 attractions, plus endless food and drink offerings including an exciting Jimmy’s Pop-Up.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, running from 19th November 2021 until 3rd January 2022, will once again light up the capital’s biggest central park. Expect the scheduled arrival of all of your favourite Wonderland attractions, from the largest open-air ice rink in the UK to the Giant Wheel, as well as a few new welcomed additions.
The biggest change for 2021 is their new booking system. Everyone wanting to head down will need to book an entry time. You just need to head over to their website to follow the three easy steps: choose your date, choose your entry time and there’s the option to add shows, rides and games onto your booking too. If you spend £20 on any attraction, rides & games, food & drink booked in the same transaction, entry is automatically free – bonus.
If it’s your first time visiting or you’re wondering what you can expect from your Winter Wonderland adventures, read on to find out more…
There are so many pulls for visiting Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and skaters will be excited to hear that the legendary ice rink, abrim with a canopy of twinkling lights, will return for 2021. Perfect for whizzing around with the kids or trying to impress your date without falling flat on your face…
There’s also the Magical Ice Kingdom, a space to transport yourself to a mythical world created from over 500 tonnes of sculpted ice and snow. You can even give ice sculpting a go for yourself with their fun-filled workshops. Keeping on the ice theme, check out the Bar Ice, a 70’s disco themed bar. You’ll even receive a free cocktail when you purchase a ticket – what’s not to love?
For the thrill seekers, book in for a Cirque Berserk show. Expect 50 minutes packed with skills and stunts, and of course, the infamous motorcycle Globe of Death. Zippos Christmas Circus is also perfect for wowing the kiddies with clowns, tricks and general circus fun. Or, take in the capital’s skyline with a go on the Giant Wheel, which just so happens to also be the tallest transportable wheel in the world.
For the adrenaline seekers and ride lovers, fear not as Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has them by the bucket load. Dangle from the sky as you whizz 370 metres up in the air on the EuroCoaster, ride to the top of Hyde Park’s trees as you glide around on The Hangover or go up, down and around on the Wilde Maus. Munich Looping, a ride made famous from the popular Oktoberfest, is returning too!
Relive your childhood and experience traditional fairground rides, including the Helter Skelter, and Haunted Mansion where you can spook yourselves silly. All of the action continues in Santa Land, including penguin bumper cars, Santa’s spinning coaster and lots more family-friendly rides.
The star of the show? The Real Ice Slide!
The star of the show? The Real Ice Slide! Grab a rubber ring and helmet before racing your friends, family or date down the ice laced slide. Loser buys a round of drinks!
You can tap ‘n’ play your way around the site with contactless, available to use on all the rides.
Refuel after all the fun at one of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland’s pre-bookable restaurants. On hand will be renowned pop-up restaurateur Jimmy Garcia. He’ll be bringing his foodie antics to Hyde Park with The Refuge Jimmy’s Pop-Up, an Alpine themed restaurant serving up comforting dishes including French onion soup and fondue, as well as hot festive cocktails to warm your cockles.
Of course, there’s a host of other food and drink offers, from the Street Food Village to The Fire Pit, Carousel Bar to The Arctic Lodge and Explorer’s Rest.
