When it comes to wellness and my fitness, I’m always on the lookout for new things to try, fresh workouts, and interesting products. Anything to shake up my routine, give things a little kick, and find a different challenge.

That’s why I’m so excited for the return of Balance Festival – the UK’s biggest celebration of wellness. Running Friday 12th – Sunday 14th November at The Truman Brewery, the three-day festival brings all of London’s best boutique studios, wellness practitioners and workshops together in one place – think of it as the world of wellness under one roof.

With a highly curated programme of cutting-edge workouts, panel talks, meditation workshops and tasty treats, here’s why you should check into Balance Festival this November.

Test out classes from London’s most exciting boutique studios

If you’ve always had apprehensions about signing up for an eight week workout class, now’s your chance to try out some of London’s best all in one place without having to commit to the full package. London’s most exciting boutique studios, including KXU, Third Space and Virgin Active, will be hosting sample classes from their hugely popular programmes. 

For those wanting to experiment with barre exercises, look to Barrecore or go for an intense cardio session with Barry’s 25 and 50 minute workouts. Boom Cycle will be on hand for all of your spin class needs, served with an added side of colourful lycra, while F45 packs in a workout that’s a 50/50 split of cardio and resistance.

Workout with some of the biggest names in the industry

Is there one fitness instructor you’ve always wanted to workout alongside? At Balance Festival, your fitness dreams are about to be answered thanks to their exciting roster of instructors and classes. 

Head to the Main Stage and you could be working out with Alice Liveing in her glute and ab lab session, Tally Rye with her train happy masterclass and Steph Elswood and her HIIT IT class that packs a punch. There are also classes from @just_green with Train to Slay, Abs Attack by Lottie Method, or prepare to strike a pose with House of Voga, the workout that incorporates everyday yoga stretches with voguing.  

Back by popular demand is Boys V.S. Girls Yoga, the session that sees all of London’s best yogis in one room take part in a fun and friendly battle. All that’s left to wonder is… who will win?

Find your zen in The Meditation Dome

Wanting to work on your breath work? Head over to The Meditation Dome where you can wind down, reconnect with your body and find your zen. The Dome is home to a calming array of classes from gratitude workshops, from Birch’s Hannah Holt to sound healing sessions with Molly Chiner and Aysha Bell.

Some of the biggest names in the area, including Holly Husler, Laura Pierce and Emerald and Tiger, as well as Just Breathe founder Michael James Wong, will all be on hand to provide you with advice, insight and knowledge on how to incorporate these practices into your routine.

Refuel with nutrient-rich tasty dishes

To fuel you through the fitness rich weekend, Feelgood Kitchen will be serving up a nutritious and delicious range of their popular dishes. Start off the day with one of their breakfast pots or refuel after a workout class with their tasty no pasta vegan lasagne

Feelgood delivers restaurant quality, gluten free and dairy free meals straight to your freezer, all handcrafted by Michelin star-trained chefs, and their team will be available to speak for those wanting to learn more.

Learn from the experts

Meanwhile, over at The LAB, you can tune into a series of exclusive talks from leading experts and influencers who are at the forefront of the wellness scene. Expect talks on how to stay motivated when you want to give up, how to work with your menstrual cycle, and the healthy foods to know for 2022.

Connect with your body at the FLOW Yoga studio

Want to take your yoga to the next level? Stretch out under the guidance of the capital’s best yoga teachers over at the FLOW Yoga studio. Connect back with your body through a whole range of yoga practices, including yin, slow, vinyasa, voga and even disco. 

Zoe Bertalli from Refinery E9 will help you to connect to your mind and body, while Chris Magee will target your arm balances and handstands and Gemma Soul will help you fully revive yourself through the simple practice of yoga.

Hydrate with La Maison Wellness’ mindful cocktails

If you’ve spent the last month tackling Sober October and think you might want to continue onwards, you’ll want to check out The Mindful Drinking Zone. New to the festival for 2021, the area will see celebrity cocktail mastermind Camille Vidal talking about this new drinking movement. 

Alongside this, you’ll be able to sample refreshing La Maison Wellness’ mindful cocktails that you’ll actually want to drink. They’ve been carefully designed to bring you into the present moment, while savouring the flavours and ingredients fully. They’ll provide the perfect hydrating pick-me-up post-workout.

Tuck into healthy sweet treats

Satisfy your lingering sweet tooth by visiting The Market, home to over 150 vendors showcasing what’s hot in the wellness world. From raw chocolate to alt-milks, vegan ice cream to kombucha, there’s something for every taste bud. Plus, plenty of tasters to go around!   

Find some grounding at The Sanctuary

For some peace and calm, head to The Sanctuary. Home to the yoga studio and Meditation Dome, this space is dedicated to allowing festival goers a place to relax, think and gather their thoughts. It’s also home to an exciting range of independent stalls, ranging from the latest yoga apparel to natural skin products. 

Make the most of the VIP area

Elevate your experience further and opt for the VIP ticket. As well as all of the added extras, including a goodie bag and full day admission, there’s also the huge VIP lounge to explore too! And for 2021, it’s quadrupled in size!
