From high society Bridgerton balls to exhibitions celebrating Black femininity, new restaurant openings to International Women’s Day celebrations, we’ve rounded up the best events taking place this weekend. Read on to find out more.

Take your International Women’s Day celebrations into the weekend

International Women’s Day may have been earlier this week but it isn’t stopping London from celebrating women’s achievements. This weekend sees a flurry of events taking place, from Southbank Centre’s WOW – Women of the World – Festival to chef takeover dinners and exhibitions.

We’d recommend booking in for one of Carousel’s female chef takeovers. The spectacle is created in collaboration with Clare Finney, the award-winning food writer and author of The Female Chef, and features a really exciting line-up of chefs, with each chef cooking up a five-course menu.

The line-up includes Angela Hartnett OBE of Michelin starred Murano and Cafe Murano restaurants; Sam Evans and Shauna Guinn of Hangfire; chef Romy Gill MBE; chef and food writer Sabrina Gidda; and Julie Lin of Julie’s Kopitiam in Glasgow.

Celebrate Holi with this vibrant painting & cocktails workshop

Holi, the annual celebration of colour, love and positivity, falls on 17th March but Cinnamon Kitchen City is kicking off celebrations early with a technicolour painting masterclass and cocktails.

Taking place on Saturday 12th, Pooja Kapoor from The Petals Studio will be hosting an interactive Holi painting workshop on the terrace in Devonshire Square, offering you the chance to get creative with watercolour. Once the workshop is over, you’ll be invited to tuck into a selection of traditional Holi canapés and appropriately colourful cocktails.

On 18th March, they will also be hosting a Holi Supper Club, a five-course menu from Vivek Singh and the restaurant’s head chef, Raju Ramachandran.

When: 12.03.2022

Where: Cinnamon Kitchen & Anise, 9 Devonshire Square, EC2M 4YL

Be the first to visit this new opening

From the creative team behind The Lighterman and The Broadcaster comes The Arber Garden, a brand new public house with a botanical themed gin bar and urban oasis garden terrace. Just from that lead-in alone, this place sounds pretty special, and you can trust us when we say it is.

The space will be stocked with all of the best local and international gins, and offer a range of tempting cocktails. The one to watch being the Martini by the Sea, an oyster shell infused gin.
