Most of us might not be able to get to the coast right now, but there are still plenty of great delivery brands bringing fish direct to the dinner table. From decadent oyster boxes from London’s most famous seafood bar to family ‘catch of the day’ deliveries, a weekly hamper that serves up restaurant-quality fish and veg to the sushi box ideal if you’re not the best cook, there are endless options to help you get your omega-3 fix.

Here are our favourites…

London Shell Co.

“Out of the water and onto the road” is the new catchphrase from London’s coolest floating restaurant, the London Shell Co. Not to be defeated by COVID-19, the team quickly focused their revenue stream on delivery boxes, bringing the freshest Cornish fish up to our London homes.

Choose from the likes of the BBQ Box – Sesame, Soy & Ginger Tuna Steaks, Whole Rainbow Trout to share and King Prawns with Lime & Coriander Butter to name just a few delights – or the Picnic Box that’s ready to eat in the park of your choice.

Go big this weekend with the special Surf & Turf box that includes the likes of a Whole Cornish Native Lobster, Dexter Wing Rib, Jersey Royals and plenty of sides.

The Wright Brothers

Not to be mistaken for the aeroplane guys, these brothers are more into the sea than the taking to the air.

Best known for their seafood restaurants, the group are delivering restaurant quality, responsibly sourced fish straight to your door with a selection of boxes.

Choose the likes of the Fish Box for 2 of 4, including salmon fillets, monkfish and haddock, as well as pre-made fish pies for lazy nights in. Or, for those with a more adventurous palate, go for the Catch of the Day box which puts you in the expert hands of their market buyers, who put together a generous selection of whatever is freshest and best value on the market at any given day.

You can also add individual products to your basket, from Jersey oysters to lobster and oven-ready dishes.

Le Marché des Chefs

Our weekly food deliveries have been keeping us going these past few months, one of which has been Le Marché des Chefs, who we can’t rate highly enough.

The brand usually deliver to some of London’s top restaurants – think Ducasse at the Dorchester, Hide and Hélène Darroze – so expect the produce to be exceptional.

Choose from a weekly gourmet hamper (meat, fish and veg), a veg hamper or go pesscatarian with their £50 hamper for two, including the best mackerel we’ve ever cooked, meaty salmon fillets and a whole host of delicious fruit and veg.

Ollie Dabbous of London restaurant Hide creates a weekly recipe too, if you’re in need of some high-end culinary inspiration.

Orders must be placed by Tuesday at noon each week and are delivered free of charge every Friday.

For those that prefer their fish raw with a hefty dose of soy sauce, a side of wasabi and no need to fire up the oven, should check out Nobu’s new delivery and takeaway menu.

One thing we’ve missed during lockdown is decent sushi but the kings of London’s sushi scene are back to change that.

On Thursday 18th June, you’ll be able to order a limited edition, create-at-home hand roll kits, available through Deliveroo. Each kit, priced at £65, contains portioned and seasoned sushi rice, slices of the best quality fresh tuna, salmon and king crab, avocado, wasabi, pickled ginger, nori sheets and a side of Nobu’s famous Creamy Spicy Sauce, so you can recreate the restaurant’s famous Hand Roll, Spicy Tuna Hand Roll and Salmon and Avocado Hand Roll at home.

Plus, take advantage of their usual delivery and pick-up menu for nights when you can’t face washing up.

Nobu London’s at-home hand roll kits will be available only through Deliveroo from 5pm on Thursday 18th June 2020.

With stores in Clapham South, Islington, East Dulwich and South Kensington, Moxons is a fine choice for many needing their fish fix in the capital.

When lockdown hit, Moxon’s closed their restaurant Next Door in order to help the swamped fish shops and quickly organised a delivery service for the vulnerable who couldn’t get out. Three months later and they’re still delivering the finest produce to homes from their hand selected suppliers in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Sussex and Scotland, as well as a selection of homemade fish pies, fish cakes, sauces and stock.

Moxon’s fishmongers are open for business in Clapham South, Islington, East Dulwich and South Kensington. Click here to enquire about home delivery.

While the majority of us can’t visit the sea right now, Oystermen are dedicated to bringing it’s fruits to us during lockdown. The Covent Garden seafood bar have launched a delivery service and created hampers full to bursting with all your fishy needs, from cooked Dorset crab to seabreams, seabass and, of course, oysters.

And for an extra special Father’s Day treat, they’ve joined forces with Old Pulteney, the Maritime Malt, to deliver the perfect present for foodie dads this Sunday.

Designed to transport recipients to The Maritime Malt’s hometown in Wick, which is perched on the edge of Scotland’s most northerly shores, the box includes 12 of Oystermen’s fresh Irish oysters from Carlingford Bay and a shucking knife alongside a bottle of Old Pulteney 12 Years Old and matching Glencairn Crystal whisky glass.
