Add some five-a-day chic to your interiors with our round-up of the juiciest home trend of the season.
Fruit prints are making a comeback – in truth, they make a bit of a return every summer – but this year they have gone big, emblazoned on statement wallpapers, embroidered onto linen napkins and making their way onto, or rather in the shape of, dinnerware. There’s plenty to choose from whatever your favourite fruit, from punchy watermelon to pretty cherries and quirky pineapples.
On the high street John Lewis and Anthropologie have some colour popping prints – we love Leanne Simpson’s zesty ‘Orange Harvest’ and Summer du Plessis’ clashing ‘Banana Split’ print. Both are great ways to incorporate and match colour in your home. For something a little more special, there’s Astrid Wilson, the illustrator of the moment (she’s recently collaborated with fashion brand Rixo), whose ‘Mumbai Fruit Market’ print is an affordable investment.
There’s plenty to explore in the way of table styling when it comes to this trend, and it comes at a good time as we’re finally able to bring back entertaining (within reason). Matilda Goad’s adorable fruit embroidered napkins are something to keep for years to come and will add charm to a dinner party setup, while Bordallo Pinheiro’s fruit-shaped dinnerware – think pineapple shaped jugs and banana leaf bowls – have pretty much reached iconic status in the interiors world.
We’re also loving the return of the humble tablecloth. It may be a little bit grandma chic, but it will make even the most mundane of dinners a little more special. Favourites include Zara’s affordable, retro-inspired cherry number and Mrs Alice’s citrusy Amalfi lemons design.

Queen of the tablescape Alice Naylor-Leyland's Amalfi Coast-inspired collection is perfect for setting a Mediterranean scene to your outdoor dinner plans. And if it rains? Take it inside to bring new life to a tired dining table. Pair with a behemoth sized bowl of lemons as a centerpiece, naturally.
British homeware designer Elizabeth Scarlett's intricately embroidered pieces are inspired by her love of travel. Think palm trees, banana leaf, turtles and our favourite, the pineapple. Check out her sumptuous bed linens and scatter cushions for an instant upgrade to your sleeping quarters.
