Halloween is inching closer to us, bringing with it all of the thrills, chills and spirits it always brings… For the purpose of this article, we’re looking at the liquidised form of spirits (alcohol, not bloody bodies…), rounding the greatest halloween cocktails arriving at London bars this month.
From pinkeye martinis to witches brews, here’s what to sip on this BOO-zy Halloween season.

On Thursday 28th, COYA Mayfair is hosting a special Halloween party, filled with cocktails that you won’t want to miss. Including the Tunche, a cocktail based on the terrifying tale of the El Tunche, a mythical beast who wanders the nights of the Peruvian jungle… Made with banana tequila, pineapple and soursop puree, PX Escencis and lime juice.

Knightsbridge favourite, MY&SANNÉ has conjured up a haunting selection of cocktails to see you through the spooky season. There’s the Bloody Mary cocktail that’s served in a blood bag…
But for those wanting something a little less scary but still delicious, try the Munchkin Scary Spicy, made with vodka, homemade pumpkin puree, red apple syrup, Baileys Irish Cream, Cointreau, lemon juice and a dash of nutmeg and chilli mix. It’s topped with Italian meringue, a dehydrated apple slice (in the shape of a pumpkin) and a dash of chilli mix.

Sabine, named after the bird whose migratory travel is influenced by the seasons, is making way for a spooky tipple this Halloween. Nodding to its bird theme, the Bloody Raven will provide a dark twist on the concept.
Dark orange in colour, this shaken cocktail is made with Hennessy VS, bloody orange puree, Orgeat syrup, lemon juice, Drambuie and chocolate bitters. Garnished with fresh half lime skin and a burning cherry in it.

Female members’ club, AllBright, is welcoming ghouls, goblins and everyone in between this October. For those wanting to venture down to get spooked, order in a round of their Halloween special cocktails, the Dragons Breath… Filled with fire to finish, the carefully curated cocktail is made up of Lillet rouge, Campari, strawberry Beefeater and orange.

Great Fosters has launched three creepy cocktails in time for Halloween. Choose from the Bat House, made with Midori, Belvedere vodka, pineapple juice, with an injections worth of red wine, grenadine and sambuca, topped with a strawberry, mint and a bat, or try the Halloween mocktail made with Seedlip Garden 108, grenadine, blue curacao, lime juice, lemonade and topped with fresh blackberries and an orange twist.
But our favourite is The Blood Donor. A cocktail that will make your skin crawl, it’s made with Great Fosters 1931 gin, Chambord, Crème de Cassis, pineapple juice and garnished with a twist of orange, cucumber and a blackberry.

Spook yourselves silly with a cauldron brewed cocktail at NYX Hotel London Holborn. Available exclusively for three days over the Halloween weekend, the Belvedere Witches Brew, deep purple in colour, is made up of Belvedere vodka, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, NYX pumpkin halloween tincture, cardamom soda and garnished with a physalis and a strawberry sugar rim.
Dress up for Halloween, slot this into your hand and take in the electric interiors in NYX’s main bar.

Rake’s Café Bar has a spooky number making its way to its menu this Halloween and it comes in the form of a floating pink eye… The Pinkeye Martini is their version of your worst nightmare, coming to fruition through a sweet combination of Havana 3 White rum, Deadman’s Fingers Coconut rum, sugar and Peychaud’s bitters.

Paddington’s Smith’s Bar & Grill has three traumatising cocktails on their Halloween menu this October… Available from 25th – 31st October, expect to get your hands on the likes of the Fog of Death, made with vodka, Khalua and crème de cassis; Sweet Poison with gin, sour sugar, egg white, pineapple and cucumber; or try our favourite the Walking Dead, a concoction of rum, Aperol, grenadine and angostura.

One of their most popular cocktails, La Ofrenda translates from Spanish to English as The Offering. Short, black coloured, this cocktail takes inspiration from the Black Manhattan and has been created by Dre Masso, mixologist and The Last Talisman’s resident cocktail creator, following his travels to Mexico during Day of the Dead last year. It’s made with aged tequila, mezcal, amaro and a combination of orange and aromatic bitters, filled with smokiness thanks to the mezcal.
Alongside the cocktail, why not celebrate Day of the Dead with their La Ofrenda cocktail masterclass taking place on 28th October.

Mayfair’s Italian restaurant, Bocconcino, is celebrating Halloween with a haunting skull cocktail, aptly named the Blue Hell. Served inside a black skull head glass, the cocktail is made with bubblegum syrup, apple vodka, blue curacao, apple juice and lemon, and topped with haunting devil haunts…

While you’re busy dancing the night away at The Piano Works this Halloween, don’t miss your chance to try out their spooky cocktail, the Scaretini. It’s packed with Bombay Sapphire gin, tea infusion, sugar syrup, mint leaf and citric acid solution and dry ice to create the smokey effect. Oh and a dash of witchcraft too…

Enjoy soaring views over London with a side of horror this spooky season. Skylight, located in Peckham and Tobacco Dock, will be adding a Halloween concoction to their cocktail menu in the form of The Blackdeath… It’s made with Olmeca Reposado, lime juice, honey, blackberries, rosemary and topped with soda water.
