In partnership with Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
From the colourful light displays to last minute shopping on Oxford Street, you can’t say you’ve spent Christmas in London without exploring the city’s most iconic festive attractions. And that, of course, includes an obligatory trip to the magical world of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
The giant winter attraction, which illuminates Hyde Park come November, has returned! Running until 3rd January 2022, Londoners can head down to soak up the best of the festive season in one place. Expect more than 200 attractions, ice skating, epic rides and cosy winter warmers to keep you toasty.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland returns with a few changes, with the biggest being their new booking system. To explore the festive offerings, you’ll need to book an entry time. Simply head over to their website and follow the three easy steps. This year you can easily add shows, rides and games to your booking, and if you spend £20 on any attraction, ride, game or food and drink booking in the same transaction, entry is automatically free!
Thinking of heading down? Read on to find why you should…
New for this year, renowned chef and pop-up extraordinaire, Jimmy Garcia has an exciting Alpine themed pop-up restaurant at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Drawing on his time spent working in the French alps, Jimmy knows the perfect remedy to thaw out the iciest of chills.
Downstairs you’ll find a festive bar and street food kitchen, serving up the attraction’s legendary raclette burger – think oozy cheese and juicy meat – alongside venison hot dogs and moreish truffle and parmesan fries.
While upstairs will offer a more cosy affair, perfect for resting your feet, warming the soul and diving into comforting winter warmers. Expect to be grazing on steaming bowls of French onion soup and a traditional Alpine fondue with all of the trimmings. There’ll be festive hot cocktails to sip on too, including vin chaud (mulled wine) and a butter rum cocktail. The Refuge by Jimmy provides the perfect space to wind down after you’ve whizzed around on the rides.
Head over to Bar Ice and you’ll be whisked off to The Alps in an instant. The coolest bar at Winter Wonderland, this bar is made out of literal ice and has to be kept on the chillier side (-10 degrees to be exact).
With every ticket purchase, you’ll receive a free cocktail and you can redeem it at this 70’s disco themed bar. Choose from a variety of cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails all served in an individual pre-carved ice glass.
Don’t worry about being cold as you’ll be kept cosy with a winter cloak and gloves, provided to you on arrival.
The quickest way to warm up? In front of an open fire of course, and you can do just that thanks to The Fire Pit sponsored by Pepsi MAX!
The cosiest pit stop in Wonderland to get nice and toasty in front of the fire. Make sure you grab a Pepsi MAX cocktail at the open air bar before you sit back, relax and listen to the music performed by a live band and DJ sets taking place throughout the day and night.
Keeping on the entertainment line of things, you can expect to be tapping your toe to acoustic performances and dancing it out to DJ sets at the Explorers Rest.
The popular bar returns for another year but this time it’s bigger and better than before. Catch up with friends over a pint or people watch the day away perched on one of the bar tables. It’s the perfect stop off between the rides and somewhere to soak up all of the festive magic.
Bringing a taste of Bavaria to Hyde Park...
Bringing a taste of Bavaria to Hyde Park, the Bavarian Village is home to cosy chalets, outdoor seating and sing-a-long sessions.
Head over to the Bavarian Hall and soak up the best of the live entertainment from bands and DJs. Lose yourself in the moment as you sing along and dance to the tunes filling the space.
There’s also The Almhütte, the most authentic Oktoberfest experience in the Bavarian Village yet. Listen to traditional oompah music while you eat a traditional style meal. Table packages can now be booked via Bavarian Village.
Over in Santa Land, you can keep the little ones entertained with a visit to Santa’s Grotto where you’ll be able to meet Mr C himself. And the best part? It’s free to enter! So you can visit on a couple of occasions if you want to try and convince him to remove your name from the naughty list…
We’ve even got word that he’s incredibly excited to be back meeting and greeting with believers. Just make sure you’re on your best behaviour…
Once Santa has finished greeting and gifting to all of the well behaved girls and boys, he’ll be heading home to check the elves are keeping on schedule for his present giving come Christmas Eve night.
Each night there’s a parade through Santa Land, allowing the kiddies the chance to wave to him and Mrs Claus as they head home on his sleigh back to Lapland come nightfall.
Another Santa Land favourite has returned to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this year and it’s The Real Ice Slide!
Grab a rubber ring and helmet and slide straight into the Christmas spirit in style, as you race your friends and family to the finish line. Our only warning is that the loser has to buy a round of drinks!
Cirque Berserk has also returned for another season, and it’s even bigger than ever! The brand new 50-minute show, REGENERATE, features an array of amazing circus acts from around the world.
You can expect the show to be packed with all of the fast-paced thrills, skills and adrenaline-fuelled stunts that you could ever imagine for. And of course, there’s the return of the legendary motorcycle Globe of Death too!
Don’t miss your chance to see the multi-talented troupe premiere.
You’ll find ice sculptures hidden around every corner, from wizards and elves to unicorns and dragons.
The Magical Ice Kingdom will transport you to a frost-covered land, home to more than 500 tonnes of sculptured ice and snow. Lose yourself in the magic of it all as you explore and uncover the secret passageways.
You’ll find ice sculptures hidden around every corner, from wizards and elves to unicorns and dragons. You’ll even find a real Ice Palace throne room so you can pretend you and your date are an ice king and queen. There’s also ice sculpting workshops too if you fancy trying your hand at giving ice sculpting a go.
Warm clothes are recommended as the temperature reaches -10 degrees and you’ll want to stop off at one of the bars afterwards to refuel with a warming cocktail or hot chocolate.
No Hyde Park Winter Wonderland day out is complete with whirling around on the stomach churning rides… Whizz around on the EuroCoaster or ride to the top of the trees on The Hangover.
The Munich Looping is returning too, along with The Giant Wheel, which just so happens to be the tallest transportable wheel in the world!
There are also fairground favourites, including the Helter Skelter, Haunted Mansion and penguin style bumper cars.
