A Secret Mexican Party…

When you think of Coyote Ugly, what probably comes to mind is a hot, scantily-clad Piper Parabo giving it her all dancing atop a bar, right? And when you think of Mexico, it’s all margaritas, mezcal and moustaches, yes? So if some (very wise) guy decided to combine the two that’d be pretty darn awesome, huh? Step forward Peyote Ugly. Feeling revitalised having spent a few weeks dancing around campfires, playing the banjo and generally soul-searching in the Chihuahuan Desert, Peyote Ugly is returning to Mayfair’s naughtiest Mexican joint on 24th February for a second instalment of tequila-fuelled mayhem. Sombreros […]

The Porridge Café Pop-Up

What’s not to love about porridge? It’s healthy for you (it’s all about the slow releasing energy), it’s basically a duvet day in a bowl when you eat it on a rainy morning and the ways in which you can pimp it up are officially endless – we’re all about coconut and Greek yoghurt at the moment. And launching next month is The Porridge Café Pop-up on Paul Street which will be serving up big old bowls of porridge goodness 7am – 6pm, 7 days a week. There will be 11 grains to choose from including buckwheat and quinoa, coconut, […]

Bricks in the Sky Exhibition Opens

There are enough LEGO bricks to reach from earth to the moon ten times. And professional Lego artist Warren Elsemore is well on his way there (albeit cheating a bit), with his display of London-inspired Lego models 80 metres in the air.   ArcelorMittal Orbit is embracing its inner child this February with a Bricks in the Sky Lego exhibition in its upper viewing platform. The multi-coloured models will include the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, Battersea Power Station and The O2, alongside London icons the red bus, the black cab and a red telephone box. […]

Secret Ibiza Party Hits London

It might be the dreariest month of the year (we thought we’d knocked that on the head with Dry-January but, oh no, some joker has now come up with Veg-February) but the guys from Blue Marlin are doing their very best to melt the freeze and bring some Ibiza lovin’ to London. You heard us, the White Isle’s most exclusive party is jetting into the capital in time for LFW, the BAFTAs and the Brit Awards with an all-day extravaganza in the 1000-capacity Banking Hall, decked out by La Maison Des Artistes. The exclusive club in the heart of the […]

Our Guide to… Top Celebrity Entrepreneurs

When it comes to picking out rising stars, we often look for those described as having “the triple threat”: all singing, all dancing and really rather beautiful. However, in recent years, in a bid to secure longevity, we have noticed that a lot of these stars have added another threat to their list: intelligence. Who says you can’t have it all. Pillow Cinema

During January it’s very tempting to stay in, to not surface from under the duvet and to devote all your spare time to Netflix, but what if there was another way? What if we told you, that you could get out, be sociable (well sort of) and still be as comfortable as if you were lying on your sofa?  Let us present the Pillow Cinema, brought to London by the same team as the Hot Tub Cinema, it takes place in Shoreditch Underground and as the name suggests it’s pretty darn cosy.  Snuggle down on a Fatboy bean bag which […]

All aboard the Tequila Express

With a promotional video so hot that it got banned by Youtube, you can image what the actual nights at Sloane Square hotspot, Tonteria are actually like. As fans of all things saucy, The Handbook went and experienced an evening for ourselves – inhibitions were left at the door. Things start respectfully enough with tapas but suddenly we are descended into darkness as the shot train begins its journey around a wooden track suspended from the ceiling, delivering tequila to thirsty guests. From then on the party had officially begun, the DJ hit the decks, the lights were dimmed and […]
