Korean Market Opens in Soho

The other day we overheard a conversation between two guys on the bus about how there weren’t enough Korean restaurants in London. Let’s hope they are Handbook readers then, because there’s a new ‘table and market; concept opening in Soho today, from Korean restaurateur and entrepreneur, Linda Lee (owner of Koba and On The Bab). Mee Market will open on Archer Street and will be split across two levels, offering Korean and Asian-inspired dishes. There’ll be a Korean poke rice and salad bar, Asian-stews, hot pots and side dishes and Korean and Asian-inspired dry foods including a customised Mee Market […]

New McCain Roastaurant

If there is one place in the world that is mad about their roasts it’s England. I thought it was a British thing, but no, turns out the Scots aren’t too bothered, (not sure about Wales), but we in England are just potty about them. Every Sunday, it is a tradition for the family to sit down together and devour a Sunday roast. It is only when you visit other families however that you realise everyone has their own version and traditions, concerning how they like their roasts. There I was glibly thinking that everyone was sitting down to the […]

Enter the courtyard and immediately you’re immersed, with toys, trees and trinkets courtesey of partners Belvedere Vodka with the space teeming with pine garlands, lights, nutcracker soldiers (of course), roasting chestnuts and hanging stockings filled with gifts and candy canes. Visit the present wrapping shack (sunglassiers Taylor Morris’s hut, clearly using the down-season cleverly) and sip on […]

Along with messers Harrod and Selfridge, Arthur Liberty is one of retail’s towering figures. His is a legacy that extends from changing the very face of Regent Street to being responsible for James May’s camera-offending warderobe. This second floor restaurant marks the final stage in a year-long renovation at the iconic shop and promises to marry the heritage of the mock-Tudor building we know and love with the […]
