8 of the best outdoor day parties

If you’re a Londoner who likes to party hard during the day, you’re not alone. London’s day party scene has been growing steadily, aided by the popularity of US import the bottomless brunch. We’re still some way away from Berlin’s level of daytime revelry, but London isn’t short of places to while away the day and act like it’s night, whether it’s food, drink or dancing with reckless abandon you’re after.

Farmacy’s Plant-Based Afternoon Tea

The vegan and vegetarian take-over is one step closer to victory as Farmacy launches a plant-based afternoon tea to coincide with National Afternoon Tea Week (14-20 August). This unique tea will begin with a pot of hemp leaf tea on arrival (or any other tea infusions that takes your fancy) before enjoying the three -tier tea. The Beach Hut Bar Pop-Up in the Sky

If we sultrily whispered the words: rooftop, gin and exclusive, to Londoners, chances are they’d get a little flustered. You can keep your 50 Shades of Grey stuff, in London what gets us really going is the chance to drink gin and get an Instagram of that #ViewOfLondon – don’t judge. It’s why ‘Seaside in the Sky’ at The Gherkin is so popular and it’s why you need to hurry up and book yourself in. Normally only open to members, Searcys at The Gherkin and the bar are now open to the public until the 1st September. Inspired by our […]

Bubbledog’s Dog Tea Party

There’s going to be a dog tea party and it’s going to be excellent. Why? Because it’s going to have hot dogs (the edible kind), hot dogs (the cute four-legged kind), Champagne (the only kind) and it’s going to raise money for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Taking place at bubbledogs, there’ll be a menu of homemade dog treats for your canine chum and hot dogs for us, which are dog themed in name and nature. The German Shepherd is topped with grilled sauerkraut, honey mustard beer sauce and pretzel crumb; The Mutt with peanut butter with Cheddar and salty […]

10 Awesome August Pop-Ups

And just like that we’re in August already – this year is flying by and whilst it appears that our summer was fleeting and has now gone (why we say this like we’re surprised we don’t know) that isn’t going to stop us making the most of August by visiting the best pop-ups and supper clubs; which this month seems to include some rather obscure drinks – beer made from lobster anyone?

Island Poké Opens 2nd Restaurant

Island Poké; pronounced po-keh…and that’s no joke-ey, has just opened their second site in Broadgate Circle – and we’re all rather excited. The restaurant serves up bowls of Poké, and for those not in the know (although you really should because they’ve been everywhere…) they consist of raw cubes of fresh fish (or roasted beetroot for vegetarians) with a soy-based dressing, served in a bowl with steamed rice and tasty garnishes. Founder James Porter trained under an ex Nobu sushi chef and has created the menu at Island Poké which includes three house Poké bowls and a build your own […]
