Sartoria’s Italian Alpine Terrace

This winter, Savile Row’s Sartoria have partnered with Italian aperitif Campari to create a winter terrace inspired by Italy’s premier ski resort, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and all part of a greater festive celebration from D&D London, titled Fairytales in the City. The Libare Bar has created an array of seasonal cocktails to make the terrace suitably alpine. You’ll find on the menu the Italian Affair, which is made from Frangelico liqueur with Barcadi, coconut, lime and ginger; the Winter Daiquiri which combines appleton estate rare blend, cinnamon, apple, lime and vanilla syrup. The World’s Biggest Rum Collection

This year, Cottons Caribbean Restaurant and Salon de Rhum have earned themselves a coveted Guinness World Record…for the bar with the most varieties of rum commercially available. They’ve got a total of 372 rums behind the bar, but maybe don’t try them all at once! The rums themselves have been sourced from all over the world; there are well known brands as well as rarer, small batch rums, like the Nepalese Khukri. Some of the rums may not be so pleasing for the bank account but you won’t be able to find them anywhere else so we’d say it’s worth a […]

Awesome Afternoon Teas

Sir Winston Churchill Afternoon Tea at The Wellesley

One of Britain’s most prized politicians made it onto the £5 note this year, and to honour that, boutique hotel The Wellesley has launched their Sir Winston Churchill afternoon tea. Churchill already has a huge presence within the hotel – there’s a suite in The Penthouse named after him but perhaps more fitting is the portrait that looks over the Cigar Lounge, which is in fact painted on tobacco leaves! The afternoon tea itself is a true nod to the icon; there’ll be tiramisu bowler hats, chocolate cigars, and a bespoke tea blend. The menu has combined Churchill and traditionally […]

The ritual of afternoon tea is one treasured by all. This Winter, paying homage to her eponymous cosmetic company and its 25th anniversary, Bobbi Brown is hosting her ‘party edition’ afternoon tea at American French brasserie Balthazar, following on from its popularity first time round – Instagram was flooded with those make-up shaped macaroons. Dalloway Terrace’s Winter Wonderland

Named after Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway, Dalloway Terrace is a quintessentially English space designed to evoke the literary ambience of 20th century Bloomsbury – with a healthy dose of 21st century cosmopolitan living. This winter, they’re transforming the space into a charming (heated) winter wonderland, complete with hot chocolate cocktails and cheese fondues; they’ve really captured that alpine spirit. Belgravia florists Wild at Heart have carpeted the venue in snow-covered Narnia-like foliage, while the floors have gained sheep skin rugs. To add to the warmth, you’ll be given hot water bottles as well as complimentary shots of Génépi liqueur, which, […]
