Dim Sum Sundays at Hakkasan

Humans are creatures of comfort, so as the temperature drops and the days get darker it’s all too tempting to stay hidden under an increasing pile of blankets as you worked your way through  Netflix’s entire catalogue, until the spring when you’ll emerge from your lair blinking in the sunlight. Well, it’s time to change that. It’s time to get dressed, and no pyjamas don’t count even if you do wear them with proper shoes, and head to Hakkasan, because they’ve just launched their Winter  Sunday dim sum menu – perfect timing with the clocks going back. It’s all about […]

The daily menu will be accomanied by special days like 'Taco Tuesdays' where you can mix classy tastes with don’t-care eating habits when it comes to chowing down on hickory short rib tacos, red wine chipotle sauce and fried fish tacos. Goode & Wright Review

At first glance, Goode & Wright is in a cracking location on the Portobello Road not from the Electric. The site is small but cosy and the restaurant is styled as a French bistro drawing in a mixed crowd from the Notting Hill area, giving it a fun and relaxed feel.  Already well known as a brunching haunt for hungover weekenders (I hear the chef’s special, Eggs Benedict, is a “must try”), the management team (who also own the site) have been ramping up the dinner menu and will soon be serving cocktails in the evening by the Talented Mr […]

Athenaeum launches Cocktail Catwalk Collection

If you ever needed an excuse to visit the elegant 5 star Athenaeum Hotel on Park Lane, the launch of their Cocktail Catwalk Collection must surely be it. In a nod to September’s London Fashion Week SS15, the bar team has created 5 new cocktails with inspiration taken from the patterns, colours and combinations of style that they saw on the catwalk. All of the drinks are served in martini glasses except for my favourite; The Barbara Casasola, a refreshing mix of Cachaça, Martini Bianco, Lime Juice, Sugar, pineapple Juice and Rosemary. All of the drinks should be enjoyed in […]

Thanksgiving at 45 Park Lane

As much as we hate to admit it one of our favourite guilty pleasures at the moment is Ladies of London. Love it or despise it, you cannot deny that watching the Americans take on the capital is hilarious and it would appear the American and British mash up is catching on with the announcement of a special Thanksgiving menu at CUT, 45 Park Lane. Showing us British how the Americans really are (sorry Ladies of London, you can’t be serious), Head Chef Wolfgang Puck will be drawing on his Austro-American roots to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Meal. Featuring classic dishes […]

Paradise’s Halloween Party

The spookiest event of the year is happening this Friday, All Hallows’ Eve, and Paradise by way of Kensal Green is ready to throw a truly ghoulish affair to celebrate. Wander past the Victorian Kensal Green cemetery to Paradise, which for one night only will be anything but. The venue will be hauntingly decorated with set designer Arlene Faller’s twisted imagination coming to life, expect to see hanging heads, cobwebs and a coffin photo booth to capture all your spooky shenanigans. DJs Sam Young (Boujis, China White) and Asad Naqvi (The Box) will be on the decks providing the music […]

Valentina Fine Foods Review

Valentina Fine Foods is a series of Italian restaurants and delis that has recently launched a new branch in Chiswick, we headed down to check it out. From the street Valentina Fine Foods looks like a café and deli with all kinds of authentic produce lining the walls, it’s only after walking in that you realise a smart restaurant sits at the back. Even further back is the open plan kitchen which serves classic Italian dishes, check your table for the list of changing specials which aren’t on the menu. The specials when we went were Mussels to start, served […]

Salmontini Le Resto Review

Salmontini le Resto recently opened in London, making it the first European venue from the Salmontini brand. Situated in Belgravia, the focus on the food is salmon with a selection of cold and hot salmon specialties including an extensive array of sushi and sashimi. The restaurant itself has a great décor and blends in well with the affluent neighbourhood; guests are invited to sit at the bar before being seated in the adjacent restaurant. After we were seated at our table, tell-tale signs of the newness of the restaurant appeared as a host of different waiters that came over in […]
