Secret Garden Launches at Rotunda

As a Londoner we enjoy the best restaurants, top clubs and beautiful architecture everywhere we look but as our pal Alicia Keys put it, it’s a concrete jungle. She may have been talking about New York but you get the idea. So when some natural foliage manages to crack through it’s always a treat; from chilling with a Pimms in Hyde Park to sunning ourselves on a rooftop terrace. Perfect for us that Rotunda has recently launched its new Secret Garden, a relaxing waterside terrace perfect for a summer drink. Rotunda converted the concrete space into an eco-friendly area thanks […]

A Little French Idyll in The Churchill

You won’t need ‘A Year in Provence’, an afternoon will do in The Churchill Bar at London’s Hyatt Regency. The Winter Terrace has been transformed into a French idyll for summer opening 1st June. Taking inspiration from Provence, one of Winston Churchill’s favourite holiday destinations, the elegant space is the perfect spot to soak up some rays and enjoy a glass of wine or two. The drinks list is a creative amalgamation of British cocktails mixed with a French flair. Examples include the Bloody-Marie Niçoise, a Bloody Mary with a dash of tequila, a splash of balsamic olive oil, garnished […]

The Beach at Bluebird

Having been transformed into an ice rink at Christmas, the courtyard at Bluebird is now being given a summer makeover and becoming a beach… that’s right a beach on the Kings Road, well they have a sandbox and that’s enough for us! Why are we really excited though? Because they are going to be serving the new Moet Ice Champagne (when you didn’t think Champagne could get any better, it just did) and serving up an all-day BBQ, what is it with BBQs and just being able to keep eating and eating and eating….? With the World Cup and Wimbledon […]

Artist Residence Hotel Review

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside…we like it even more when we are staying in a trendy hotel. Located on the imposing Grand Regency Square, only 10 minutes' walk from the centre of town, is the Artist Residence offering an authentic taste of Brighton's offbeat, artistic character. This boutique hotel's real selling point is its cool, quirky vibe perfect for cool, quirky individuals like myself. The bare floorboards and exposed brickwork, teamed with stylish designer furniture and reclaimed wood, create a fun yet surprisingly homely feel. Despite the hotel's origin as converted townhouses, the rooms are spacious, […]

Paul A Young Chocolate Afternoon Tea

Saturday being gloriously hot, I went for a little amble through Hyde Park, around Shepherd’s Market and up Park Lane. Then seeing as the sun can be so draining, my friend and I dropped in at Grosvenor House Hotel, for a spot of afternoon tea, as you do. The Park Room at Grosvenor House is light and airy, we settled down in at a window table and nestled back into the green, plush chairs watching the world go by. A pianist tinkled in the corner, and not once, not twice but thrice did we sing Happy Birthday to various guests. […]
