Ping Pong, offering dim sum, cocktails and tea, will be launching a brand new restaurant in London’s first designer label ‘village’ in December. Décor-wise, the popular chain has invested a lot of money into a new design concept masterminded by Andy Martin Architects. The restaurant claims to have a different feel to the other restaurants in the chain, with colourful splashes of paprika red, jade green and charcoal grey. Alongside the elegant new furniture and lighting, the designers will also be drawing on the traditional side of old China and including artwork of an old street scene. The dim sum […]

Spring 2014: Simon Rogan at Claridge’s

We’re looking forward to Spring 2014 for two reasons: firstly, it might get warm enough that we don’t have to wrap up like we’re in the arctic each morning, and secondly, Simon Rogan is due to take the helm at Claridge’s new restaurant! Simon Rogan, with his two Michelin stars at flagship restaurant L’Enclume, which was named as ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the 2013 Observer Food Monthly Awards and as ‘Best Restaurant in the UK’ by the Good Food Guide 2014, is an exciting new addition to Claridge’s and to London. Rogan plans to use fresh ingredients, which he […]

Aqua Shard launches afternoon tea

Important news: there is a new afternoon tea in town.  Last week saw the launch of Aqua’s afternoon tea, which gives the English tradition even more of a British feel. Served every day between 3pm and 5pm with panaramic views of London, Head Chef Anthony Garlando is serving up sandwiches such as Early Grey tea smoked Loch Duart Salmon and cucumber, Oscietra caviar and dill scented cream and chicken perfumed with lavender mayonnaisse. The Social Pantry’s Christmas Canapés

Gone are the days where office parties or corporate events meant dull shop-bought snacks, and lone cocktail sausages circulating around the room. Now it’s all about the great, inventive canapés, mini meals in a mouthful if you will. If you don’t have good canapés, then you don’t have a good party. So it’s just as well that The Social Pantry has designed a selection of fresh, seasonal canapés to reward your employees or impress your clients with this Christmas. Forget cheese and pineapple sticks and eighties style vol au vents, think wild mushroom brioche, slow roasted lamb shank with mint […]

Dieci Review

Dieci is a lovely, intimate dining experience in the hotel of No. 10 Manchester Street that sits inconspicuously amongst the charming houses of the Baker Street area. Inside there are plush cushions and velvet lined seats to relax in either open booths or tables for two. Executive Chef Cristian Gaimarri was the man in the kitchen serving up fine Italian food with starters like Piedmont Fassone beef tartar served with sautéed mushrooms and Umbrian black truffle! We stuck straight into the mains and decided on the Tomato gnocchi with burrata and rocket. Burrata cheese is a personal favourite of mine and […]
