Hai Cenato
Openings & Launches

Jason Atherton Opens Hai Cenato

If you go to Italy and they say Hai Cenato then say no. Why? Because it translates to ‘Have you had dinner?’ and if there is the chance for more food, especially in Italy, you’ve always get to say yes. If someone here asks if you’ve been to Hai Cenato then you’ll want to say no too. Why? It’s also the name of the next restaurant from The Social Company and you then have an excuse for your friend to take you…sneaky. Opening in Nova next week, it’s the second time that Jason and Irha Atherton have collaborated with Chef […]

What to do This Weekend

What To Do This Weekend 3rd-5th February

The first weekend of February means our wallets are full and we want our glasses to be too. Not to mention our stomachs, that pretty much goes without saying… Good job then that this weekend sees a couple of new brunches, a new Thai street food restaurant opening, and for all the night owls out there, the Super Bowl – aka the biggest sporting event in the USA. Celebrate accordingly with hot dogs, foam hands and the big game on a big screen. Friday: we’re ready for you.

Les Deux Salons Review: What We Thought

New? Les Deux Salons has proudly stood off Trafalgar Square since 2011 but a recent facelift and 2014 takeover from Terence and Vicky Conran and Peter Prescott has given it a new lease of life. A new ‘en famille’ menu, designed for sharing is the latest new addition. Where? 40-42 King William IV Street, WC2N 4DD www.lesdeuxsalons.co.uk First Impressions: The illuminated frontage and elegant green awnings made Les Deux Salons an inviting place to dart from the rain and, inside, an unmistakably Parisian feel is split across the ground floor bistro, épicerie and cave à vin and the first floor restaurant. On the damp […]

3rd Yard Sale Opens

One day we will travel the length of every tube line and, when we do, we’ll start with the Victoria line – mainly because it is the shortest but also because at one end is Walthamstow, soon to be home to the award-winning Yard Sale Pizza and if anything is going to get us on the tube for longer than necessary then it’s going to be pizza. It’s the third opening for the Yard Sale team, who already have ventures in Clapton and Finsbury Park and once again it’s all about that double fermented dough. You’ll want to try The […]

Rail House Cafe Opens at Nova

What do you know we’ve made it to February! We’ve already lived through a whole month of 2017 and quite the month it was, but let’s look ahead because this month will see the opening of the Rail House Café at Nova Victoria. Part of the Village London Central restaurant group (Riding House Café and Village East), the huge 330-cover restaurant will feature an upstairs bar, raised private dining room and outdoor area for 90 – admittedly that sounds unappealing given the state of the weather, but just keep looking ahead to summer when you’ll be inviting everyone to join […]

Farringdon Gets a Slice of California as Bel-Air Opens

L.A, it has a lot that London doesn’t, mainly sun, sand, surfing and the fact that it is apparently illegal to lick a toad there… who knew? Still we have slices of Californian sunshine in London, the next being the new Bel-Air big sister to Bel-Air in Shoreditch. Open from 7am, breakfast will be a veritable feast. We’re talking Egg Sidecars – that’s eggs either poached or scrambled with a choice of not one, not two but eight sides; Fat Stack breakfast bagels like the Oh-Boy made from Brick Lane Bagels, chopped egg, braised onions, coriander, chives and Sriracha yoghurt […]

We won’t lie, we have been known to have multiple birthday celebrations. Let’s say your birthday falls on a Tuesday – that’s no fun. That makes three birthday-related events and we could probably do even more… So how do you go about celebrating 100 years? London icon The Ivy turns 100 this year and, to celebrate, are holding a whole host of events throughout the year. We […]
