Absurd Bird Opens 2nd Restaurant in Soho

It seems Londoners aren’t tiring of chicken. We’ve seen it battered, fried, roasted and pretty much everything in between so it’s not surprising that Absurd Bird, the chicken restaurant in Shoreditch, is opening a second site in Soho. The Commercial Street site only opened in March which shows just how much of a winning formula they’ve got. The menu at the new restaurant will feature all the big-hitting favourites that Absurd Bird has got a name for – waffle cones with popcorn chicken, buffalo wings, marshmallow-topped sweet potato bake and the much-hyped and super-sweet crack pie. The name alone tells […]

Savurè Opens: All About the Pasta

Forget any talk of not eating carbs, forget any of this nonsense about no carbs before Marbs, because we will never be able to give up a bowl of fresh, delicious, comforting pasta and nor should we try to. Why are we praising carbs so? Because, Savurè, a pasta shop straight from Turin has just pitched up on the streets of Shoreditch and we’re rather excited. Following on from the success of their Pastificio con Cucina shop in Turin, the Shoreditch counterpart will let guests buy pasta to eat-in, take away or cook up at home. At the heart of […]

What To Do This Weekend: 12th-14th August

With the Rio Olympics now a week in, it’s no surprise that London is embracing Brazil whole-heartedly – mainly in the form of rum, cachaça and caipirinhas. This weekend is no different; Ben’s Canteen have launched a Rio-inspired brunch menu and Tooting is going all tropical with a pop-up rum shack. Free ribs (yes, free) from Bodeans Old Street on Friday lunch time will kick things off pretty nicely before a weekend of craft beer, street food, Italian celebrations and Wembley’s colourful Holi festival.

Havana Club is hosting Casa Havana, a two-week Soho pop-up bar allowing you to experience the vibrancy and energy of the Cuban capital.
