Chucs Opens in Notting Hill

When you think Notting Hill several things come to mind, Hugh Grant obviously, the carnival, Portobello market, the sorts of houses we dream about, boutique shops and of course places to brunch. And Chucs is bringing the last two together with the opening of its second boutique and restaurant. You’ll already find them on Dover Street selling their 1950s inspired menswear collection alongside their restaurant and now they are heading to Westbourne Grove. On the top floor you’ll find the menswear collection, but what we’re really interested in is the restaurant and café on the garden level. Reflecting the Italian […]

Tiny Leaf Review – what we thought

For a newly launched restaurant, Tiny Leaf is already proving popular with locals as it was packed by the time we had finished our meal. Perhaps it is the vegetarian restaurant’s ethos of zero food waste that the public is finding so appealing with food donated from local suppliers and bigger establishments such as Planet Organic. The menu therefore will change daily depending on what is surplus especially the Market Plate which is a daily market selection. The menu is limited with only four starters and four mains with vague descriptions of the ingredients rather than an explanation of the […]

BAFTA Inspired Cocktails

Guess what day it is on Sunday? And here’s a clue we’re not talking about Valentine’s Day that would be too obvious.…. any ideas? Well, amongst the love hearts (or mourning veils depending on how you view the day), it’s also the BAFTAs – something we can all get on board with. Whilst we can’t get you to the BAFTAs what we can do is tell you what they’ll be drinking at the after parties and how you can drink it too. This year Grey Goose vodka have created the Grey Goose Film Awards Season Cocktail Collection, which will pay […]

The Lido Cafe’s Kitchen Takeovers

To us, any mention of a lido brings back rose-tinted memories of sun drenched days when we were little, splashing around the local lido then sitting patiently on a picnic rug, wrapped in a towel and waiting to be served cocktail sausages and sandwiches with the crusts cut off. Those days may be long gone and any thought of stripping down to our swimmers at a moments notice is something we will put off until the mercury really calls for it, but what about a lido experience that doesn’t involve lycra – but does involve food? The Lido Cafe in […]
