Get Your 5-a-Day With Duck & Waffle’s New Vegetable Cocktails

Spring is here, and that means longer days, new life and the fast-approaching summer; it also means moving away from winter comforts – the carb-laden food, the layers we hide behind and our hibernating habits. It’s for a spring clean so to speak, load us up with vegetables and fruit, summer is on the horizon.  To celebrate Spring, Duck and Waffle are hosting a 5-course dinner, ‘Veg and Waffle’, embracing the best of this season’s produce. But there’s a catch, this dinner will be held of a limited list of 18 guests; making it one of the most exclusive events of the season. […]

London Coffee Festival Returns

It’s Monday morning which means one thing – nothing is getting done until we’ve had our coffee. In fact, that’s pretty much our daily mantra. And this love is nothing new, as early as the 1600s London was home to coffee houses where Londoners would meet to debate, gossip and sort out business matters. Safe to say that the coffee scene is still strong in London, it is after all home to the largest coffee festival. Taking place on the 7th -10th April at The Old Truman Brewery the London Coffee Festival is a must for any coffee aficionados or […]

How to Live Like a Local in: Camden

Ah Camden, home of the late, great Amy Winehouse, the lock and the market, where you’re as likely to find a punky studded tartan miniskirt as you are deep fried Oreos. Cultures collide and the result? Mouthwatering street food, quirky bars and artisanal coffee shops, all in a few square miles. We’ve tried to avoid the obvious hangouts (Koko, Proud, Barfly) but don’t think that means we’re not fans. Let us know your favourites!

Slow-Cooked Dinner and Desserts by Fraise Sauvage

Think of the most beautiful dessert you’ve seen on Instagram and that’s the type of wonder that Fraise Sauvage create. Formerly the product of serious food envy but always seeming just a little bit out of reach for us mere mortals, now you can get your mitts on chocolate saucy pudding and tres leche cake when they pop up at recently renovated Eat 17 in Hackney. If you’re thinking Eat 17 is ringing bells but you’re not sure why, they’re the people behind the heroic barbeque relish that is Bacon Jam. For 8 weeks, Fraise Sauvage will sit on the […]

Berners Tavern’s Nature Inspired Cocktails

London is quickly becoming a super-healthy place to live. It seems like every other new opening is the latest raw vegan superfood smooth place-to-go and every existing restaurant is rolling out a detox menu to make sure we’re pumped full of the goodness we need to get us through the day. What do all these things have in common? The ingredients all come from nature. Unfortunately, what London lacks is actual nature. The high-rise buildings and river certainly provide for nice viewing but don’t quite provide the fresh and crispness that nature provides. Thankfully, Berners Tavern are on hand to […]

Trader Vic’s Review – what we thought

Trader Vic’s has long been on my bucket list of restaurants in London that I wanted to visit, sitting in the basement of the Hilton Park Lane, I knew it had been well chosen and was in good company with other restaurants in the hotel including Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows and Podium. Descending the stairs in to the restaurant I found myself transported to a carpeted tiki hut with a bamboo bar and garish patterns decorating the walls. The music playing helped to create a more immersive experience that made me feel like I had been transported to a […]

Dine Amongst Nature… in The City

Think of The City and you don’t think flowers or nature, and you don’t necessarily think of peaceful private dining. Think again: 1 Lombard Street have recently given their private dining room a makeover just in time for Spring, it now goes by the name ‘The Botanical Room’. Widely regarded by those in-the-know as one of the best private dining rooms in the city, the venue itself is so close to Bank tube station you can practically tap in with your Oyster from the bar. Open early till late (on weekdays only) with breakfast served from 7.30am and lunch from 11am […]

Say Hello to Deep-Fried Creme Egg Burgers

Kim K broke the internet and this may just be the next thing: Creme. Egg. Burgers. Yes, you read that correctly; Sydney, take back your freakshakes and New York, keep your rainbow bagels. If you missed them in 2015 and failed to get tickets to the Creme Egg Cafe in Soho earlier this year, then this is the next best thing. K West’s Studio Kitchen are serving the burgers from their dessert menu (don’t worry, no beef patties here) with a white-chocolate-dipped, raspberry-sprinkle-scattered, sweet brioche bun encasing the star of the show. And it. Is. Battered. The battered Creme Egg […]

Columbia Review – What We Thought

As a relatively land-locked location it’s very difficult to find nice, luxurious water-side dining in central London. This may seem like a rather obvious statement to make and I’m sure most Londoners are resigned to the fact that this is a luxury we won’t be afforded. I had come to terms with this myself… until I headed to Columbia. Part of the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Canada Water, Columbia offers a selection of dining option including light-bites, breakfast, lunch and dinner, all with a view over the River Thames and the high-rise buildings of Canary Wharf. Walking into the well-lit, […]
