108 Brasserie Review – what we thought

If you head over to 108 Brasserie then make sure you do it over the weekend so you can divulge in the brunch menu which is ideal for soaking up the remnants of heavy night before or just to appreciate some midday feasting. The atmosphere is relaxed and smart and I feel more than comfortable to sit back and while away a few hours here as the attentive and friendly staff bring over various treats. Kicking off Sunday well was the delicious Suite 736 cocktail made with Cachaça, coconut rum, fresh melon, lemon & mango juice – delicious and refreshing. […]

The Detox Kitchen Deli Opens

It’s the 4th January, Christmas is over, New Year’s Eve is over, hopefully your hang over is over. Now it’s time to say goodbye to the family boxes of chocolate, to say good bye to living in your pyjamas and to say hello again to healthy food and the gym. Don’t worry this is much more delicious than it sounds and if 2015 and Instagram has taught us anything it’s that eating healthily is not dull, especially when Lily Simpson founder of The Detox Kitchen is opening a new flagship deli in Fitzroy Place today. Spread over two floors the […]

Percy & Founder’s January Detox/Retox

After weeks of endless mulled wine, prosecco, mince pies and carby canapés, January is the time we will all be bombarded with ‘no joining fee’ gym offers and cleansing juices popping up on every kerb-side blackboard. If you can commit to this full-on sin shedding transformation then the dedicated detox menu at Fitzrovia’s Percy & Founders will keep you on the straight and narrow. For those that managed to remain fairly restrained over the festive period (or who consider detox January a clever marketing ploy), Percy & Founders are catering to you too. Flip over the detox menu and find […]

Holborn Dining Room Review – what we thought

Holborn Dining Room was buzzing when we arrived at 6pm, normally a slow time for restaurants with things kicking off in the proceeding hours, but not here. For such a large venue, the tables were mostly filled with people even sitting around the bar. The vibe here is relaxed but smart and seems like a popular choice with workers in the surrounding Holborn area. The lighting is dim and a large Christmas tree is up giving everything a festive feel, I find it easy to settle in and get right down to ordering cocktails. My Garden of Eden cocktail was […]

The Four Thieves Review – What We Thought

As someone who is much more at home in a nice pub than a bar I was very excited when I was introduced to Clapham’s The Four Thieves, a fairly traditional pub downstairs with a wicked twist upstairs for any adult-child to unleash their inner youngster in.  As I entered Four Thieves, in Clapham I was rather confused to tell the truth, I had heard it was hybrid of a pub and a games room, but when I entered I was met by a large spacious room filled with a Frankenstein-style, eclectic jumble of random tables and chairs. Large pieces […]

Where to Party on New Year’s Eve

If New Year’s Eve plans have you in a completely stress;  do you stay in, do you go out, do you kiss your crush at midnight or will the alcohol have got the better of you? Then you need to forget all of that, you need to go out and party. You need to say ‘Thanks 2015, but you’re done now, hello 2016’. Just like that of course. As ever London steps up to the mark with it’s parties and here are some of our favourites from 1920s jazz to house and hip hop.
