M by Montcalm Spa Review – what we thought

When you find yourself on a Friday evening being scrubbed down, half naked by an attractive blonde lady, you know your evening has gone well. But this is nothing sordid I’m afraid, I have signed up for an Energising & Detoxifying Body Renewal treatment in the M Spa at M by Montcalm and am simply enjoying a good pampering. For some reason there’s nothing more relaxing than being exfoliated by Himalayan Salt Crystals, perhaps my inner masochist is coming out as I found the scratchier, the better. After a hard day at the office, slaving away at my desk (in case […]

Radio Rooftop Bar Review – What We Thought

Have you ever made the mistake of visiting somewhere you normal frequent for drinks at night, during the day? You’re suddenly very aware of the smell, the slightly sticky floor and there is no way you’d used those loos when you’re sober. Luckily none of that happened when we decided to head to Radio Rooftop Bar one Saturday morning. Normally the place we’d choose to go to for drinks after work, soaking up the alcohol and London skyline in equal measures, to a  soundtrack of Ibiza beats.  They’ve recently launch their new brunch menu and finding ourselves in need of […]

M World Cup of Steak 2015

Forget the rugby world cup; it’s all about the M World Cup of Steak 2015.  As the name suggests, M Restaurant is launching its own competition to find the world’s best beef…so nothing too important then.  The judging panel will include famed food writer, presenter and critic Joe Warwick, M’s Executive Chef Michael Reid, food writer and critic Charles Campion and Head Chef of The Shed and Rabbit and butcher, Oliver Gladwin who will be using their expertise to choose the winner. Brass Rail Relaunches

Birthday celebrations are in order for Brass Rail, Selfridges’ iconic salt beef bar which turns 50 this month, yup the big five zero.  And in typical 50s fashion it is updating its look, giving itself a makeover, this however is no mid-life crisis. To start with they’ve launched their first breakfast menu, which features the likes of crisp salt beef potato hash and the Bialy Roll – pulled hot salt beef with melted Swiss cheese, what a way to start the day. Of course you’ll need coffee to go with that so it’s just as well that Brass Rail now […]

With a strong […]

Salaam Namaste Review

Salaam Namaste is tucked away in London Bloomsbury; a couple of minutes’ walk from Russell Square station, and is the proud owner of ‘Best South Asian Restaurant’ at the Asian Curry Awards. I’m not a fan of poppadums’ or the sauces that typically go with them but I could not get enough of the creamy, tikka style sauce they serve at Salaam Namaste or the […]
