Dog Cinema at Wringer and Mangle

It’s Sunday morning. The dog needs to be walked, the roast needs to be put in the oven, but heck as you say it’s Sunday morning and all of that can wait; you put the alarm on and snooze, bleary-eyed. Your plan for the day is just to hang out with your furry four-legged pal. In previous weekends you’ve been to the Doggy Disco at M Restaurant, you’ve had the dog gelato at Pet Pavilion, and as far as friendships go you and your mutt are nailing it. Now it’s time for a new experience as London Fields’ restaurant Wringer […]

Kensington Palace Orangery Review – What We Thought

London is officially the most popular tourist destination in the world but with so much history packed into such a small area, some of the most beautiful buildings in the world and an action-packed cultural calendar it’s no great surprise. For a leisurely Sunday afternoon we headed to Kensington for a walk around the Spring-time gardens and a civilised late lunch in The Orangery restaurant. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, the Orangery is London’s only royal palace to serve afternoon tea so you can see the appeal to tourists. New? One of London’s most iconic historical buildings, The […]

James Bond’s Tailor at Bar20

Enter into the mind of a master. The man responsible for some of the most iconic suits in 21st century cinema. The genius behind red carpet icons from Benedict Cumberbatch through to Mick Jagger, and on-screen heros, including Daniel Craig’s slick, hard-nosed James Bond. The man who has tailored masterpieces time and again is offering an exclusive ‘inside-out’ evening for you to gain insight into the inner workings of his art. Meet fashion’s unsung hero; British tailor, Timothy Everest MBE. Forget Bond’s dry martinis, this evening at Bar20 is a celebration of fashion finesse, craft and cognac. In association with […]

Cocktails and Ceviche at Asia de Cuba

We love fusion. The best of both worlds when it comes to dining – we love places that commit to a single cuisine but for those days we’re just feeling a little indecisive, a Moroccan kick to spice up our French food does the trick. Or what about a plate of sushi alongside a margarita? Welcome to the world of Asia de Cuba, the Chino-Latino dining experience who, together with Havana Club, have created a unique cocktail and ceviche pairing menu to belatedly celebrate their bar relaunch. In addition to an extensive list of spirits – we counted 34 different […]

Boulestin’s New Menu

Boulestin’s Head Chef, Elliot Spurdle is a force to be reckoned with, especially given the fact that he is just 23. Most of us at that age have probably mastered cheese on toast and perhaps a good Bolognese, but the French restaurant’s new five course tasting menu showcases just how good Spurdle is. The evening menu which launches on the 12th April will feature dishes such as miso-glazed quail breasts with a spiced coconut emulsion; confit of egg yolk, wild mushroom consommé, wild asparagus, salt baked celeriac with truffles and grilled octopus with rhubarb, blood orange, beetroot and watercress. Of […]

Award-Winning Pizza Comes to Sheperd’s Bush

From a kiosk in Brixton and a truck around town – until now that’s how you got your hands on Made of Dough’s award-winning Neapolitan pizza. Whilst the most mouthwatering and gloriously photogenic food does often start on the street, it’s always reassuring to hear that they’ve hit the big time (so to speak) and secured a permanent site. Although Made of Dough won’t be trading their kiosk for bricks and mortar till summer, we are having a slightly longer term fix of them when they start a 6 week residency at Market Yard Kitchen from today. We’ve written about Market […]

Ember Yard Breakfast Review – What We Thought

Unless you’re willing to queue north of 45-minutes, forget having tapas at Ember Yard on a Friday night. If, however, you’re tired of hollandaise and bottomless bellinis have you groaning “not another bottomless brunch” then Ember Yard’s new breakfast offering is well worth a visit. Trademark Spanish and Italian tapas and charcuterie, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s not breakfast fare at all, but the occasional poached egg and addition of cold-pressed juices to the menu reminds you it is, in fact, 11am on a Saturday. One green and one purple juice kept us going whilst we browsed the menu. Imaginative […]

KOJAWAN: Genuinely Inauthentic

Time for a geography question, do you know the capitals of South Korea, Japan and Taiwan? If not, get to Google now. The reason why we’re asking? Because KOJAWAN (KOrea, JApan, TaiWAN is launching at the start of April and it’s going to be serving soul food from these three nation’s capitals  (Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei if you haven’t got to Google yet). Found at the top of the 23rd floor of London’s Hilton Metropole, KOJAWAN is a futuristic izakaya (they’re Japanese gastropubs), think hi-tech furnishings, sci-fi materials, manga graphics, art installations and a unique, retro-modern vibe. It’s going to […]
