2nd Homeslice Opens

If there was ever a time to eat pizza then it would be a Friday and whilst we can’t send you pizza to your desk, we can tell you about London’s next pizza joint – a slice of the action if you will (yes we went there). Following on from their success in Neal’s Yard, Homeslice are back and they’re opening their second restaurant in Fitzrovia. The 120 cover restaurant will be bigger than its sister site and will feature a main dining area, dedicated takeaway space, outdoor seating and a cocktail bar and counter seating. The vibe will be […]

Les 110 de Taillevent to Open

At the end of next month, Cavendish Square will see the arrival of Les 110 de Taillevent a French brasserie brought to London by Taillevent Paris, the Gardinier family owned group behind the famous, 2 Michelin starred Le Taillevent. The 70 cover brasserie will have a strong focus on wine, (which is something we love to hear) with over hundred available by the glass (110 to be exact, the clue is in the name), the wine list which will feature rare wines has been curated by Pierre Bérot who brings his wealth of experience from Taillevent Paris. With a strong […]

Salaam Namaste Review

Salaam Namaste is tucked away in London Bloomsbury; a couple of minutes’ walk from Russell Square station, and is the proud owner of ‘Best South Asian Restaurant’ at the Asian Curry Awards. When we arrived at 6pm we were only the second people there but after half an hour the place had almost filled, and by the time we left there were only two small tables available. I’m not a fan of poppadums’ or the sauces that typically go with them but I could not get enough of the creamy, tikka style sauce they serve at Salaam Namaste or the […]

Noir Cocktail Bar- What We Thought

Who doesn’t love cocktails? Choosing a delicious combination of flavours, watching and waiting for them to be blended into a masterpiece for you and your friends to sample. Team that up with long summer evenings, and you’re on to a winner. As we stepped inside the black doors of Noir, passed the ‘friendly but don’t mess with me’ guy on the door I noticed the sharp black leather and gold interior. The bar felt dark and intriguing, just like the 40’s film genre it shared its name with. The staff immediately looked after us and I could tell we were […]

Harvest Festival at Rabbit and The Shed

Living in London, harvest probably doesn’t really cross your mind that much, it was just something you had to do at primary school, when you were asked to bring in some vegetables and your mum sent you in with some obscure tinned beans that she bought once to try in a recipe. Well it’s time we started to appreciate it, because we hate to break it to you, but did you know potatoes don’t actually come from Waitrose? And the Gladwin Brothers aka the team behind The Shed and Rabbit are bringing harvest right to Notting Hill and the Kings […]

La Suite West Hotel Review – what we thought

The uber modern La Suite West Hotel is the proud owner of a raw vegan restaurant which also boasts a summer terrace too. Now before you recoil in horror at the idea of a meatless, dairyless world, just hold your horses. Since before Christmas bonafide vegan, Head Chef Nik Heartland, has been racking his brain to come up with creative and flavourful dishes to help to introduce new options into the London vegan scene. He has spent the past few months carefully creating a brand new vegan a la carte menu, vegan salad bar menu and London’s first vegan fine […]

Jean – Jacques Review – What We Thought

Jean Jacques is a new French brasserie and wine bar, set over three floors of a Soho townhouse, whilst it might be a celebration of Jean Jacques Rousseau., it actually comes from a Russian restaurant group. There’s a cosy cocktail bar in the basement, handy for any Ronnie Scott’s overspill, and a lovely little roof terrace on the first floor, for alfresco dining and drinking. The menu features all the French classics that you’d expect from a Russian restaurant – steak tartare, onion soup, poussin and so on. We started with the snails, which were fine, a little under-salted, and […]
