The House of Peroni

When it comes to summer there are two things that go hand in hand:  drinking and doing it alfresco, I’m referring to drinking there, I don’t want to know about your antics. All the better if you are somewhere like Italy or if like us a faux Italy.  You might remember we told you about House of Peroni presenting Vita al Fresco which is currently at Harvey Nichols?  Well with the sun shining, we thought where better to go for our Friday night drinks then there? Also quite frankly we didn’t want to be jostled around on the pavement like […]

Get Meaty With British Beef Week

Calling all vegetarians! Joking…go back to your salad. This one is for the meat lovers. It’s British Beef week from the 23rd April – 3rd May. Yay! Moo? In celebration of this event The Thomas Cubitt, The Orange, The Alfred Tennyson and The Grazing Goat have decided to run some delicious specials. The chefs at each restaurant are cooking up some rare Breed White Park beef in order to create some celebratory dishes. This is in recognition of the importance of the quality breeding of assured British cattle. This qualms our fears as we don’t like the thought of all the dodgy meat running […]

The Royal Opera House’s limited edition L’Occitane Tea.

If I was to write a list of my favourite things it would definitely, amongst others, include fresh flowers, Champagne (I’m not even sorry), new perfume and scones with clotted cream.  Put them together and it can only lead to excellent things – like combining two of my other loves chocolate and peanut butter. Anyway before I digress the Royal Opera House have done just that, throughout May they are serving up a limited edition floral tea in association with L’Occitane and their fine fragrances – La Collection de Grasse.  It’s served in the spectacular Paul Hamlyn Hall – famed […]

Dom Pérignon Pop Up

Poppin champagne – we’re at it again…. From the 5th of May, for ten days only, Dom Pérignon are opening it’s doors and are inviting guests to their ‘Les 3 Étages’ at…… Well actually we don’t know where they’re at because it’s a secret! The best kept secret in London we’d say. All we know is that Les 3 Étages’ will be set over three distinctive floors, each floor features a different level of champagne maturity called the ‘Plénitudes’. We’re glad someone is being mature around here because after three floors up we think we’ll be giggling our way back […]

Ceviche Old St.

Prior to my review I watched Ceviche Old St’s opening video on their website and decided I liked Martin Morales, head chef and owner, already. His passion was so infectious I felt like I had some sort of personal affiliation with him. Now I knew he could talk the talk but could he walk the walk? (Or cook the food?) The decor in Ceviche is a collaboration between Martin and the award winning Fabled Studio which can only be described as ‘Chicha’ cheeky or playful. This was reflected throughout the restaurant from the waiting staff to the paintings. Apparently guests are […]

Beef & Flowers: Welcome to the Supper Club

Big chunks of meaty beef and delicate scented flowers might seem like a somewhat odd and contrasting pairing to the untrained eye. However, to the esteemed foodies among us, these are clearly the key ingredients for a standout supper. At least, that’s what The Newman Street Tavern supper club is hoping, with their new series of monthly suppers, each themed around a unique menu. The Tavern’s monthly supper clubs will each feature a five course tasting menu at a very reasonable price, as well as the option of specifically paired wine to enhance the flavour of your food…and who doesn’t enjoy a glass (or bottle) of wine […]
