Gaucho’s Seven Days of Gin

Cocktail week may be well and truly over but that doesn’t mean all cocktail frivolities have departed the capital, continuing London’s love affair of gin, Gaucho restaurants will host Seven Days of Gin. Taking place across all the London Gaucho restaurants, a series of events will be hosted to celebrate the traditional spirit from masterclasses to gin tastings to complimentary talks on the modern history of London’s love of gin. There will also be a Tanqueray Gin-pairing four course dinner with dishes like Gaucho’s famous ceviche and steak, each paired with a different gin or gin cocktail from Tanqueray. On the […]

The Little Yellow Door

Let’s be honest, as much as we love a good night out, it is pretty difficult to top a great house party. There is just something about these wild affairs that you wouldn’t find on your average night out and whilst the flat party we have in mind is probably more Made in Chelsea than Skins, that does not reduce it standing as a great affair. For this reason alone, we were delighted to hear about The Little Yellow Door, a party pop-up that is descending onto Notting Hill Gate promising weekly dinners and drinks that will be difficult to […]

Paddington Tea at Aqua Shard

He came from deepest darkest Peru and wound up in London with his now iconic duffle coat, red hat and battered old suitcase. And now the most well-travelled and adventurous bear, Paddington is back and taking to the big screen with his very first film released on 28th November and to celebrate this Aqua Shard has created the Paddington Afternoon Tea. Head chef Anthony Garlando has used both London and Peruvian influences to create the special tea which is served Monday to Friday, so expect London taxis cakes flavoured with chilli and chocolate, a Victorian sponge Battenburg and Paddington praline cream bun. Of course […]

Adam Handling at Caxton: Review

Having been tipped as one of the 30 under 30 to watch, winning the British Chef of the year 2014 and being the runner up in the MasterChef last year, Adam Handling has certainly achieved a lot recently and that’s before we even mention that he has just opened his new restaurant Adam Handling at Caxton and all before he is 26 – just shows what you can achieve when you aren’t addicted to Netflix… ahem. Anyway let’s not get too down about what we haven’t done yet as hey we might not have opened a restaurant but at least […]

The Georgian Restaurant: Review

It was a Sunday afternoon and we were in need of being taken care of and a little indulgence, so we promptly took ourselves off to The Georgian restaurant at Harrods who have recently launched a new lunch menu. Set on the 4th floor, The Georgian, (which has recently been refurbished by Christopher Guy Harrison) is spacious, opulent and sumptuous; chandeliers and regal looking velvet wing back chairs without being overwhelming or stuffy. Charming waiters tended to the guests whilst the pianist soothed everyone’s back to school Sunday afternoon feelings with live music (and 6 renditions of Happy Birthday). The menu […]

Capturing Kings Cross with Foto Ruta

2014 was officially coined ‘the year of the selfie’ but this looks set to change with the Fota Ruta Clue, a photographic pop-up that seeks to celebrate one of most polarising and evolving neighbourhoods in London: Kings Cross. Based at the St. Pancras Hotel, the camera will be turned on its head, capturing the sights of the city and using photography to engage people with their surroundings in a sociable and creative way. Now, we know that Kings Cross is often seen as a commuter hub, a stop on a journey rather than the final destination, but Foto Ruta hope […]

Salmontini Le Resto Review

Salmontini le Resto recently opened in London, making it the first European venue from the Salmontini brand. Situated in Belgravia, the focus on the food is salmon with a selection of cold and hot salmon specialties including an extensive array of sushi and sashimi. The restaurant itself has a great décor and blends in well with the affluent neighbourhood; guests are invited to sit at the bar before being seated in the adjacent restaurant. After we were seated at our table, tell-tale signs of the newness of the restaurant appeared as a host of different waiters that came over in […]

Blind-Dining at Island Grill Review

I must admit that when I first signed up for blind-dining at Island Grill, I was a little trepidatious. It wasn’t the prospect of sitting in the dark that I was concerned about, more the fact that I am probably the most uncoordinated person in the history of the planet and felt it was more than certain that a great deal of food would miss my mouth and end up on the table. However, my fear was slightly reduced by the fact I had cunningly invited someone who was even less spatially aware than me with the mentality that every […]
