The Meat Co Review

As you may have guessed from the name, The Meat Co is a restaurant whose expertise lies in all things carnivore friendly with an impressive menu of steaks, ribs and burgers. Before any vegetarians reading recoil in horror, it’s not all doom and gloom though as the talent in the kitchen have waved their creative magic to all aspects of the menu. Situated in the popular shopping district by Shepherd’s bush station, the South African restaurant covers two floors and an outside terrace but the best place to dine for ambience is upstairs with the glassed off open plan kitchen. Macaron and Martini masterclass

Think British food and you think fish and chips, pies, jellied eels (we’ve tried them…never again), Sunday roasts and of course afternoon tea with scones and copious tea – we’ll go for Lapsang. Well move over scones, see ya later tea because there is a new duo in town, the sophisticated more decadent version, macarons and martinis and Ohlala Macarons is leading the way with their masterclass. Taking place on the 11th October, they’ve teamed up with the quintessentially British label Antoni & Alison to host an afternoon of indulgence. In the super cute and charming ‘Ye Olde Worlde Super […]

Almeida: Review

When it comes to restaurants you think most things have already been covered, we’ve had dining in the dark, mystery menus, eating whilst precariously perched in the sky and way underground, but the Almeida over in Islington have created something brand spanking new; they have done away with the wine list, making them the first restaurant in London to do so. Instead they have a wine wall, where diners can go up and choose their wine based on the tasting notes or they can leave it up to the sommelier to make the choices based on what they are eating […]

Rule Britannia: The Britannia Re-Opens

For someone that spent the majority of their childhood years in Malaysia eating rice and noodles, I do enjoy a good British pub. There is nothing that sums up English life to me more than rounding off a busy week with a Sunday lunch, kicking back with friends and family watching the rest of the world go by. With that in mind, there is no pub more British in spirit than the aptly named Britannia, which has recently re-opened in Kensington. Built on the site of an old brewery, the Britannia is steeped in history and has been serving the […]

The Halloween Ball in WC2

Halloween: the most terrifying night of the year. However, we cannot help but notice in recent years, this holiday (can we call it a holiday), has not been all that scary, What’s more, it is so easy to get wrong and if interpreted incorrectly can end up being cheesier than One Direction and 5 Days of Summer combined. Yes, in the past few years, Halloween has not lived up to its reputation, with blatant attempts of horror and hideous excuses for costumes (adding cat ears is not a costume) taking all the allure out of the evening. What the evening […]

Launching next week and the largest yet, it will be able to seat 90 people over two floors, although if you’ve been to either of the other venues (Villiers Street and Old Compton Street) you’ll recognise the white tiles on the counter and the brass mincers decorating the walls. Spa to You at Hilton on Park Lane

It was meant to be a simple journey home from Barcelona on a Sunday night, an hour and a half flight, nice and easy yet somehow delay after delay after delay meant it took 10 hours. 10 hours. Not the end I wanted to my holiday, but one thing kept me going, knowing that I had booked into Spa to You at the Hilton Park Lane the next night. And boy did I need that massage. The spa is located on the lower ground floor of the hotel and offers an extensive range of treatments, massages and services (waxing, threading […]
