La Plage Launch

Bacanal, for those of you that don’t know, was one of the very first London day parties which drew inspiration from the brunch clubs in New York. Luckily for us Londoners they have recently unveiled the next chapter of their story with ‘La Plage’, a pop up residency with weekly Saturday soirees at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington. The event begins with the best intentions at an intimate brunch before the sunshine and glasses of Moet get guests in the mood for a full out party with electric orchestras, Brazilian samba bands, circus acts, fire breathers and stilt walkers […]

Secret Dinner: PRiMAVERA

So if we told you to buy tickets for dinner, but we couldn’t tell you what was on the menu or where it was, other than there were 6 courses and 6 wines, would you buy them? Yes you would, and why? Ping Pong Westfields: Review

Monday night – I battled my way through the commuters at Waterloo, dodged travellers on the escalators on the Jubilee line and managed to escape the clutches of the sales people in Westfields, Stratford – you know the sort, the ones who tell you that ‘you really do need this dead sea salt/natural fungi/ coconut/olive/peanut oil’ because it will wonderfully transform you from a tired, worn out Londoner into a goddess of some sort…. Yep sure. Anyway I had got through this mini marathon and finally made my way to my destination: Ping Pong which has recently opened up in […]

Café De Paris

Piccadilly’s Café De Paris, with its glittering history, spanning more than nine decades – it first opened its doors in 1924 – is renowned for both its sparking performers and its guests as well from royalty and members of the aristocracy to eminent political figures and stars of stage and screen. On descending the sweeping steps visitors cannot fail to be caught up in the nostalgia of a bygone era. Gloriously ostentatious décor features twin staircases curving down from the balcony – based on the Palm Court of the Lusitania ocean liner no less – and a dance-floor modelled on […]

Definitely something to be seen to be believed, head down to the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols in the next four weeks where they will be using the latest in 3D printing technology to create personalised chocolate selfies for everyone. Mother’s Day 1

We all know we need to say thank you to our mothers more often; they have looked after us when we were scared of the dark, they've cooked us endless fish fingers, wiped away tears, confiscated dreadful eyeshadow (in hindsight, thank goodness), stopped us from leaving the house in sartorial disasters and been there for us more times than we can remember – so with Mother's Day just around the corner, it is time to get planning and say thank you properly. Here are some of the best events happening in London.  34 With their popularity soaring over the last […]
