Hush

What’s that old saying? ‘If you can’t make it to the Alps then head to Hush in Mayfair’ – well perhaps it isn’t quite a tradition yet, but Hush does indeed have its first après-ski courtyard this winter throughout the ski season. Launching in January, the courtyard will be transformed with twinkling fairy lights, vintage skis, sledges, Hush blankets and hot water bottles to keep out the London chill: it will be like you are right there in an Alpine retreat! And for hungry skiers, Hush will be serving up après-ski favourites such as chicken schnitzel with spaghetti tomato and […]

Blackfoot

If you like pork, you’ll probably like Blackfoot, Tom Ward (former ops manager at Leon) and Allegra McEvedy’s new pork-inspired restaurant on Exmouth Market. Comments McEvedy: 'I’ve always had an emotional attachment to all things porky, so opening a pig-centric restaurant is a bit of a dream come true. The menu is characterful, fun, and not exclusively piggy, bringing together other ingredients and flavours that sit well in the face of such porcinicity.' The kitchen is headed up by James Knight (Copita) and the menu included dishes such as the long smoke (slow-roasted belly with Szechuan pepper and black treacle), […]

Fish Market Restaurant: Review

In amongst the high rise buildings of Liverpool Street and Bishopsgate, and the crowds on the streets is Fish Market restaurant; a little slice of nostalgic seaside fun. From the twinkling tea lights and lanterns, to the minimal, wooden panels and blue and white stripe awning, it stands out from the other buildings in the area, like well, a lighthouse and that’s why we love it. We were there to sample the Winter Terrace Fun Fair menu but we first dug into half a dozen prawns with garlic butter and a mountain of salt and pepper squid, which was just […]
