Obikà, a taste of Italy in South Kensington

Last Friday, The Handbook took the rare opportunity to enjoy the last of the sunshine with a window table at Obikà mozzarella bar in South Kensington to indulge in some cheese… alot of cheese. The restaurant is painted in black but it the large open windows and the staff who were attentive and friendly ensured that the atmosphere was light and sophisticated rather than being dark and stuffy. Monty’s Wine Bar & Restaurant launches this week, serving an impressive selection of Cichetti and charcuterie as well as a delectable array of Italian dishes. It promises simple and uncomplicated dishes, using the freshest ingredients, sourced and imported directly from small artisan producers in Italy and the UK. Opening on the wharf’s Westferry Circus this weekend is the newest venue from the Tom Aikens’ stable is a modern British Brasserie with 130 seater restaurant with outdoor terrace, bar and deli. It will serve British favourites using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients from breakfast to dinner seven days a week. Say hello to Yauatcha’s strawberries & cream éclair

Just in time for Wimbledon this month, Yauatcha has launched a unique Strawberries & Cream éclair. Filled with strawberry cremeux, vanilla cremeux and fresh strawberry pieces, and finished with strawberries, cream and micro mint, said  éclair is available at the restaurant with a side of fresh strawberry sorbet, or, can be purchased to-go from the front-of-house patisserie.
